Peedie Waaness  is a very comfortable, self-contained bungalow, which is located next to the owner's property of Waaness. It is situated down a private drive, with own parking for 2 cars, garden and together with the feature windows in the sitting room has extensive, uninterrupted views across Scapa Flow. We have had visits of orcas and humpbacked whales, oystercatchers and hen harriers in the garden, curlews in the field beside us, plus our neighbour's highland cattle!

Location:
  • Peedie Waaness is just over 1 mile from the village of Burray, which has a shop, a pub/restaurant/Hotel, and further out of the village there is Orkney Fossil and Heritage Centre Community Cafe.
  • There is a bus service which runs from St Margaret's Hope through to Kirkwall and then on to Stromness.
  • There are more facilities at St Margaret's Hope, which is on the island of South Ronaldsay, 4 miles away, connected by No 4 Churchill Barrier, with shops and post office, sandy beaches, a 9 hole Golf Course and a GP practice.
  • The 'Hope' is also home to the Pentalina, the Pentland Ferries catamarran ferry service, with frequent daily sailings to mainland Scotland, landing at Gill's Bay near John O' Groats.
  • There are further tourist attractions on the many islands of Orkney.
  • Kirkwall has the majestic St Magnus Cathedral situated on the main street where there are many shops, a leisure centre, museums, cafes, restaurants and hotels, supermarkets and harbour. Something for everyone.
  • There is much to see and do in Orkney, whatever your interests, whether it is walking, history, bird watching, sandy beaches, archaeology, WW1 and WW11, or just relax with a glass of wine and admire the view.
  • There is space to breath here!
