 Beautifully Converted Stone Barns above the Wye Valley, Monmouth with fantastic views over the Black Mountains and beyond. Situated on the Welsh English borders the barns are ideally located for walking and cycling and only metres from Offa's Dyke Footpath. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are numerous activities in the adjacent Forest of Dean including cycling, canoeing, pot holing and rock climbing.

Well Behaved Pets welcome.

There are often sheep, chickens and other animals in the fields immediately adjacent to the barns and we can normally provide guests with freshly laid eggs from our chickens.

TOP BARN

Accommodation:
  
  • Bedrooms: Main Bedroom - double bed and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Second Bedroom - single bed with second pull out bed. Both bedrooms have wall mounted electric heaters.
  • Lounge - sofa bed (sleeps 2).
  • Bathroom: The wet room bathroom is tiled throughout with travertine tiles. There is a toilet, basin and walk in shower.
  • Kitchen: The kitchen has a granite work surface, cooker and hob, fridge with small freezer box, double sink, microwave, kettle and all utensils. A washing machine, ironing board and iron are provided. Back door entrance to cottage.
  • Living Room: The lounge diner looks out onto the spectacular views. A log burning stove provides warmth in the winter and patio doors can be opened in the Summer. The sofa opens out into a sofa bed if required. Dining Room table and chairs and further seating. TV and Internet. Wall mounted electric heater.
  • Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service: Towels and linen are included. The property is fully cleaned between lets. Additional cleans can be arranged for longer stays.
Outside:  
  • The garden is private and fenced. There is a sizeable South facing patio area with spectacular views over the Wye valley and Black Mountains.
  • The garden includes a small lawned area and fruit trees.
  • Seating and a barbecue is provided.
Accessibility:  
  • The barn is in a rural location and is accessed via a public footpath and some steps. Parking is 75m from the house.
  • The access to the barn means that it is probably not suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility restrictions.
LONG BARN

  • Bedrooms: Main Bedroom - double bed and views of the surrounding countryside. Second Bedroom - double bed, Third bedroom - bunk beds single bed with third pull out bed with full size mattress. All bedrooms have wall mounted electric heaters.
  • Bathroom: The wet room bathroom is tiled throughout with travertine tiles. There is a toilet, basin and walk in shower.
  • Ensuite in Bedroom 1.
  • Kitchen: The kitchen has a cooker and hob, fridge with small freezer box, double sink, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and all utensils. A washing machine, ironing board and iron are provided.
  • Living Room: The lounge diner looks out onto far reaching views. A log burning stove provides warmth in the winter and patio doors can be opened in the Summer. Dining Room table and seating. TV and Internet. Wall mounted electric heaters.

Location and Places of Interest in the Area:  
  • The barn is just over a mile from the market town of Monmouth which boasts a rich history and plenty of independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
  • The property is situated on the Kymin which is a hill overlooking Monmouth with a National Trust property at the top. The area is popular with walkers and there are plenty of activities locally including cycling, canoeing, walking and rock climbing.
  • There are numerous walks in the area with Offas Dyke long distance path passing only a few metres from the barn.
  • Local places of interest include Tintern Abbey (20 mins), Hereford (30 mins), Goodrich and Raglan Castles (15 mins).
  • The cities of Bristol, Bath and Cardiff are all within an hours drive.
Bookings:  
  • 30% of the total rental cost is payable on booking. The full balance of the rental cost plus a £100 returnable breakage deposit (Long Barn £150) must be paid.
  • Changeover day is flexible. Arrival time after 4pm and departure by 10am unless a prior arrangement is made.
