Cosy cottages in the heart of the countryside on the edge of the North York Moors. Taking in magnificent scenery and a short walk on the moors are compulsory with this holiday!
Roaring log fires or the warm glow from a log-flame fire welcome you back after a day spent touring the moors or walking through spectacular woodland. You can also have the warm glow of knowing that your electricity is generated by a newly restored water wheel powered by the mill race which runs through the buildings near the farmhouse and cottages; we are 'Going Green' in a big way!
Visit Castles, Stately Homes, Folk Museums, Abbeys, The East Coast resorts, York with its city walls and Gothic Minster, or just browse in the lovely market towns of Pickering, Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside. Or, gear up for a day in the Great Dalby Forest where cycle hire and cycle tracks afford a fabulous day's activity; Go Ape another exciting activity adventure.
Eat comfortably at home or choose one of the dozens of good pubs and eating houses within a mile or two.
Both cottages are non-smoking and guests are asked not to smoke inside; for those who can't resist there are small arbour refuges outside.
The wonderful valley of Farndale with its unique flora and fauna(it's an SSSI) and the wide-open Moors on your doorstep are looking great; there is always good walking around the cottages on tracks, through fields and woodland or on the open moorland. A blazing fire and warm cottage will welcome you home! Birds and wildlife abound;rabbits, hares, deer are on your doorstep, as are curlews, larks and plovers.
