The last thing I expected on Arran in March was a suntan, but after a week of mostly sunshine I'm going home pinker than I came! Stillpoint has been perfect, just the place to come home to after a day of walking, lovely to relax over a lazy breakfast watching squirrels and warm and cosy in the evenings.
Pat (London) March
Stillpoint has been the perfect base to explore this wonderful island. Many thanks Don and Kathleen for providing such a wonderful week.

Our first visit to Stillpoint and Arran and it won't be the last! We fell in love with Arran the moment we drove off the ferry at Lochranza - and with Stillpoint when we saw the view from the terrace and the squirrels every morning. Arran is a beautiful Island - so peaceful and relaxing with so many well signposted walks.
Thank you Kathleen and Don for such a lovely, comfortable, well thought out retreat to come home to each evening. We've loved every minute and would love to come back!
Karen and Andy (Scunthorpe) June

Having never been to Arran before we were not sure what to expect. We fell in love with Lamlash as we drove around the Bay taking us from the ferry to Stillpoint. What a lovely warm welcome we received from Don on our arrival. The posy of fresh flowers, the home grown tomatoes were well received. The view and the wild life at Stillpoint are wonderful. Red squirrels by our door were amazing to watch every day, we were snapping away with our cameras before we had even unpacked!
Wendy and Fred (Chester, Cheshire) September

Marian and Ron Gilchrist (Fairlie) August
We have had such a lovely time at Stillpoint. This is the first time we've come to Arran. We noticed that you didn't have to lock your doors in such a modern world- it was definitely a change from London, that's why Mum wanted an experience of living in a completely care free world. The highlight was the red squirrels and the stunning reflection of the full moon on the sea.
Angie and Wai Jun (London) July
Thank you to Kathleen and Don for providing such a lovely retreat. We had some great trips around the island, manly on the bikes.
Douglas and Hilary (Glasgow) July
Stillpoint - an idyllic retreat after a day exploring the wonderful Isle of Arran. We saw basking seals on the rocks, otters, golden eagles and red deer in the glen and of course the red squirrels in the garden at Stillpoint. Arran has something to offer everyone and although this is our first visit, we hope it won't be our last!
Diolch yn fawr iawn!

We had a lovely two weeks at Stillpoint on our first visit to Arran. Stillpoint is wonderfully secluded with views over the Bay. Kathleen and Don provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. fabulous entertaining provide by the red squirrels, many birds, bats and 'laughing' ducks. Weather was typically Scottish but we went home complete with suntan and smiles.

Wonderful relaxing holiday. Very comfortable accommodation. The squirrels made our holiday. Saw deer at both Lochranza and the String Road, and three golden eagles going over the String, otters and seals at Kildonan and seals on the rocks at Clauchlands. Can't do much better than that. Thanks again.

We had an amazing week on Arran with perfect weather. Stillpoint is perfect! Very comfortable in an amazing setting and great location. Love the fresh flowers. Our first visit to Arran and we discovered many gems, in particular: the beach at Kildonan, King Cross Point, Glenashdale Falls and Giant Graves. We hope to repeat these delights in the future and discover more with our base at Stillpoint. Elena, Edinburgh (July 2014)
Best place to stay on Arran is Lamlash. Best place to stay in Lamlash is Stillpoint. Best food is the Drift Inn - eat Scottish seafood. Couldn't have had better weather!

Perfect! An amazing 2 weeks with absolutely fabulous weather. Stillpoint is a fantastic place to stay, so peaceful..... and the regular visits from the red squirrels were an absolute delight. Arran is a great place to explore, to relax and unwind. Will definitely be back.
Julie and Kerigh, Hertfordshire (June 2014)
As usual time passes too soon in this zen like atmosphere. We have enjoyed being here and of course would love to come back again! Arran has been a wonderful experience, whether hill walking, having coffee at the Old Peir Cafe, talking to people, or visiting Holy Island. This time of year we felt we had entered a Scottish 'rain forest' so lush is everything, plus many unusual butterflies etc.
We love Stillpoint for the care that has gone into it to make visitors comfortable. Waking up in the morning to birds calling, the views form the window became a meditation that will travel back with us to the mainland.
Audrey and Dave, Troon (June 2014)
What a perfect little place to spend our first family holiday. An idyllic location and a wonderfully peaceful Island. We wish we had found Stillpoint as a couple many years ago (we would have been regulars. Thank you again for allowing us to spend our first family holiday in Arran.
George, Gillian and Jovie (6 months old)May 2014(Paisley)
We loved Stillpoint - the view, the location, the peace and the visits by birds and red squirrels to the deck. Arran is beautiful and relatively unspoilt and very uncommercialised. Would love to come back and do the walk around the coast of Arran.
Claire and Stuart (North Yorkshire)May 2014
This is such a delightful tranquil place. Stillpoint is one of the most special places that we have been to on our many travels around the Scottish Islands. Birds are many and two red squirrels passed the window, with many species of trees to watch the movement, chiff chaffs, blue tits, dunnocks, chaffinches, robins and song thrush all in view. Thank you so very much Don and Kathleen for the lovely fresh lettuce and making us so welcome.
David and Olivia (Stourbridge) May 2014

Thanks for this still place - it's so aptly named!
This might have to be an annual visit.
Jill (Cumbria) April 2013
I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic week at at Sillpoint. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice. It was really an ideal setting for a week-long holiday for a couple.
You did a fantastic job of making the most of the space. The two burners on the kitchen are enough to cook most meals for two, and I speak as someone who loves food and cooks pretty much every meal from scratch. The storage is well worked out. There's exactly enough room to store the food and clothing that most people would need for a week.
What really stands out in my mind is how the place is always filled with light. It's radiant on sunny days, and when it's chilly, the interior is warmed by the sun. On rainy days, it was almost as beautiful. We enjoyed the main room in the mornings and evenings, and it was nice that it was possible to clear an area on the floor. I was mostly just stretching, but I imagine that people would find it useful to practice yoga, tai chi or other types of movement. I also enjoyed practising music in that beautiful setting.
Thanks for making this available to the public, and thanks for making it affordable, too.
Dee (Glasgow) May 2013
