Had a lovely relaxing stay, visited Minehead, Bridgwater and Dunster Beach. The house is very cosy and well equipped, we came with the in-laws and they loved it! Would love to come again, Thanks, Paul, Alison, Gerald and Val.

May 2018

We enjoyed staying at Little Mayfield, the cream tea was a very nice treat waiting for us. Somerset is a beautiful county, there is much to see and we will come back. Thank you, Hilde and Rita, Holland.

April 2018

Our 2nd visit here, sadly we left the time between visits too long - wont do that again! Enjoyed the food at the Plough Inn and Cottage, visted Dunster and Dunster Beach, nice walk along the river from the beach to the village. Enjoyed Porlock Weir for first visit and a nice town and beach in Minehead. Little Mayfield is a great place to stay and our dog loves the Quantock walks. Thank you both, Shatron, Tony and Maggie.

February 2018

Thank you so much for allowing us to bring forward our stay. Whilst the circumstances (attending a funeral) have not been great, your understanding and helpfulness has been exceptional. Little Mayfield is extremely clean and had everything you need, the additions provided again set you  above other hosts. We would love to return in the future. Stephen, Sharon, Joe and Tilly, and Lottie the Dog!

A superb long weekend over half-term. Very cosy and lovely - could not want for anything! Brilliant trips to Kilve beach, enjoyed Dunster beach and had the most magical walk up the nearby hills and enjoyed seeing the ponies close up. So much on the doorstep, we will be back again. Amazing 5 stars. Lucy and Oliver.

December & January 2018

Lovely NY break, very comfortable cottage and lots to do with 2 dogs. Had lovely meals at the Plough Inn, very friendly. Pleasant walk up the Coombe and day trip to Taunton. Great location - Thank you. Deb, Mary, Ness, Mac and Jimmy.

October 2017

We have had an amazing week staying in this beautifully furnished and convenient bungalow. We have visited so many old haunts, Watchet, Blue Anchor, Porlock, Dunster, Stogumber, Nether Stowey etc etc. We had an excellent Sunday lunch in Shurton and good food in the Bicknoller Inn and The Hood Arms at Kilve after a glorious walk on the Beach.  The Quantocks have looked glorious especially in the sunshine, we have had a full and fantastic few days. Thank you Donna & Mickey, Zoe and Colin Bryant.

A very clean, warm and spacious bungalow which made a great base for interesting days out. Visited Hestercombe, Coleridge Cottage and Lytes Cary Manor, all lovely places although the weather was iffy we managed to stay dry! Coffee and cake at Kilve Chantry, lunch at Lorna Doone Farm and afternoon tea at Selworthy- all memorable occasions. Josh the Collie enjoyed the walks on the hills and the deer were heard bellowing. Thanks for the cream tea and bonio. Bob, Jean and Josh.

Yet again a wonderful stay, thank you Donna & Mickey you even managed to sort out some nice weather! We'll be back, Chris, Pete and Tia.

Firstly thank you for the welcome cream tea and bonio for Max, second we told you it was our anniversary and you left us a card and gift- very thoughtful. What a find, Little Mayfield is immaculate, clean, and well laid out with everything you need on hand. There is a great pub, "The Plough " yards from the door, who offer great food, drinks and a warm welcome. I cannot fault this property in anyway and will have no hesitation in coming back and recommending to friends and family. Thank you, Jean, Kieron &  Max.

September 2017

Had a lovely week here in your comfortable bungalow. Thank you for the cream tea and the bonio for Domino. Didn't realise he liked them so they've now become another of his daily habits. Beautiful area - particularly liked Dunster Village, hubby and the boys thoroughly enjoyed their trip on the Flying Scotsman. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Chris, Mick, Andrew, Daniel and Domino!

Absolutely loved our stay! You have thought of all the little touches - the cream tea on arrival was extra special and the Bonio for Womble! Beautiful area, lovely walks and Womble loved the nearby beaches. Inviting homely place to stay - We will be back, Thank you.

Jenni, Darren & Womble.

August 2017

Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was here and all good quality. We had two evening meals and a breakfast at the Plough Inn. Also ate at the Hood Arms Kilve and the Old Shop Aground at Minehead Harbour, all were good but our favorite was the Plough - More authentic. Also had a Cream Tea at pretty Selworthy. We were here to visit relatives so our stay was geared around that. Dunster was as beautiful as ever and we walked our dog on Dunster Beach which was beautiful and very quiet. We haven't been in this area for 10 years, I hope it wont be long before we visit again.

Clare, Dez, Izabella and Teyha.

It was an amazing cottage to stay at, we would definitely recommend this place to future guests. The hygiene was excellent and the tidiness of our rooms were great when we arrived. The area around us was brilliant because it felt like everything was on our doorstep. We also felt that the garden space was extremely good due to the warm weather. We especially liked the fact we were so close to Dunster Castle. We would definitely try to stay again. Thank you for the cream teas - THEY WERE AMAZING!!!

Thank you so much, The Davey Family.

Great to have returned to Little Mayfield, love the new upgrades since our last visit. Again as previously stated the food and welcome at the Plough Inn is superb, they went above and beyond to accommodate our grandsons' food allergies. Cant wait to return next year.

Marion, Steve, Vicky, Calan and Blue!

Had a lovely 10 days at your great cottage, thanks for the extra help at the start of our holiday! Cottage very clean and had everything we needed plus more, very spacious and the garden area was an added bonus, especially for our dog Pippa, very safe and enclosed. Area great, lots of lovely walks from our door so the car wasn't needed all of the time. The pub is really handy, with good food. Had Sunday lunch at the Cottage Inn along the orad and it was great food and value for money. Hope to return sometime soon to your lovely cottage and village. You have been great hosts, thanks for everything.

Jan, George and Pippa the Dog - Northumberland.

July 2017

Lovely cottage, great location to access walks, National Trust places, beaches and so much more. Was very peaceful eating breakfast outside on the Patio listening to the Sparrows and Swifts. Enjoyable walk from Minehead to Dunster along the river, Dunster village has some wonderful shops and tea rooms, strongly recommend the gardens at Dunster Castle. Watersmeet was a short walk from Lynton through the woods - very picturesque, brilliant for everyone but could be steep and rugged in places. Apple Tree Tea shop in Minehead is a must, well priced, quirky and friendly with a fantastic cakes selection. This is our second sty at this well equipped cottage and it wont be our last.

John, Ann and Hannah - Buckinghamshire.

Here since last Saturday and had a lovely time at Little Mayfield, exploring the West Country, hope to return again soon.

Bruce from Canada!

Considering the house is Pet Friendly it's the cleanest one I have stayed in! Lovely nice welcome with a delicious cream tea. Central to all amenities and sightseeing, great place to stay for the dog owners amongst us. Nice friendly people will definitely recommend to Friends. Nice to have a pub over the road. Thanks for having us!

October 2016

What a lovely treat to weary travellers, a lovely warm bungalow to walk in to, plus an extra treat of a cream tea which were soon devoured, lovely thought, thank you. Little Mayfield is a credit to you both, warm, comfortable, home from home, we all settled in immediately. It's in a great location and central to do much, couldn't do as much walking as we'd have liked due to disabilities, but we combined sight seeing and shorter walks, our dogs loved the beach. Bungalow layout was ideal especially for me being 95% blind- easy to find my way around. Paid a visit to Wells Cathedral, stunning sights there, lovely day looking around. Steam railway transported us back to childhood train rides. We take home lovely memories from our visit and the warm welcome here. Hopefully to return another year. Many thanks both, great to meet you. Our very best wishes, The Dibbens- Denise, Robin, Amanda and 3 Doggies x x x

May 2016

Wonderful and relaxing break, did several walks, the Quantock amble says 2 hours and 40 minutes, lots of up and downs so took a little longer due to dodgy joints! However Kilve along the Quantock coast line was a lovely fairly flattish walk - 1 hour and 30 minutes. Ate in the Plough Inn and the food was good, had a lovely meal at the George in Middlezoy, you need to book! The bungalow is lovely and comfortable a real home from home. If the weather isn't good pop down to the book barn! Many thanks we had a lovely stay and hope to came back. Rich, Mia and Delphi the dog.

We followed the advice regarding the local pub and the cream tea Kilve Chantry and were very glad that we had done so- both were well worth visiting. A trip to the walled gardens at Cannington was another highlight- a very extensive collection of plants beautifully laid out. Little Mayfield was a clean, comfortable base, the cream tea was delicious! Many thanks, Sally and Archie
