Thank you for a lovely stay in your comfortable, cosy cottage. We have had a much needed break and have enjoyed seeing lots of places in the Borders. Weather has not been so great but didn't dampen our spirits. Best wishes E, C and Keira the dog, October 2020

The rain tried to do its best to dampen the pleasure of our short holiday but failed. We were left enjoying the very beautiful Northumberland scenery and town of Berwick. As a fan of Lowry my bucket list has one less item on it and we thoroughly enjoyed Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle and Paxton House too. We had a very good meal at the pub in Paxton and hope to return one sunny summer. The cottage was adorable - perfect. Best wishes M, J and Pepper the dog. October 2020

Thank you for another lovely stay in your cottage. We have had a very relaxing few days, visiting Lindisfarne, Bamburgh & Berwick. Some lovely walks along the coast at Spittal and around the cottage. The weather has been great too! See you again. Best wishes, K, G & R, September 2020

Thank you for a lovely stay in your wonderful and homely cottage. The sun came out towards the end of our stay and it was beautiful to see the fantastic countryside views. We loved visiting your beaches and enjoyed exploring Norham Castle too. For our last evening we ate at the Cross Inn - our first meal out in over half a year. The food and the people were lovely. Thanks for our welcome pack and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Best wishes K, R, A & H plus Pip and Cai, Scarborough, August 2020

Thanks for a lovely week in a beautiful, quiet and private location. We especially liked Cocklawburn beach and Norham Castle. We hope to come back one day. Best wishes, H, M, E and D, August 2020

Dear Louise and Harris, thank you for a lovely break from the madness of COVID. It was just what we needed after lockdown - lots of fresh air and great views along with trips to the seaside. Best wishes K, D, N & B, July 2020

Dear Louise and Harris, thank you for your lovely cottage - it was perfect for our stay and hope to come back in the future. Best wishes C, M, S and R, July 2020

First time writing "20"! We have had a lovely stay here over New Year - away from fireworks (which usually upsets our dog). It was peaceful, cosy and relaxing. Generous welcome pack, thanks. We would love to come back again. A & R, Cupar, Fife, January 2020

Louise and Harris, thank you for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Nice to be back again. Enjoyed walks and the area. C & Harry the dog, Perthshire, November 2019

Dear Louise and Harris, another amazing stay in your beautiful cottage. The weather behaved so we could get to the beach every day. Our daughters have "Gable End Envy" so we will be in touch for them to come. Love to you both and thanks again. A perfect holiday. P & K, N.Yorks, October 2019

Louise and Harris, Thank you so much. A lovely secluded, cosy cottage - perfect for the three of us and Harry (whippet!). Lovely garden and views. Walked far from the door and enjoyed being good tourists too. Very best wishes to you and hope some of our family will see you again. H, P & C, Perthshire, October 2019

Dear Louise & Harris, Thank you for a lovely week and all the lovely thoughtful touches for our arrival. Always a joy to get here. Love K & R, September 2019

Dear Louise and Harris, Many thanks for allowing us to stay in your sweet, little cottage. We had a fabulous week and the weather was amazing. We made the most of exploring parts of Northumberland and also ventured out to Edinburgh (on the train) and St Andrews. So many highlights and some great memories to cherish. Many thanks for your kind hospitality. All the best, E, P & M, September 2019

A huge thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage. What a fabulous location and a perfect peace of heaven! Thanks also for the little extras you left as a welcome for us, a lovely touch and very thoughtful. Loved meeting you and Kenny (greyhound). Hoping to return in the future perhaps with a greyhound of our own who knows? Anyway thanks again, C & J, Bridlington, August 2019

Dear Louise and Harris, A sincere thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful "Gable End Cottage". Our batteries are re-charged due to the peace and tranquillity coupled with the facilities provided. Looking forward to returning one day soon. With very best wishes and good health. M, S & A, Lancashire, August 2019

Thank you for a lovely visit. Sorry we did not catch up until we were nearly leaving. All the little touches made the cottage lovely. Although, as you know most of our time was spent with my sister, it was great to get back to the cottage, a proper home from home. J & T, Somerset, July 2019

We had a lovely tranquil two weeks here. After the hurly burly of the south east it has been a welcome break. The cottage has been lovely and in a beautiful setting. We will have happy memories and we wish Louise and Harris a good and happy life. V & B, Hayling Island, July 2019

Thank you both for a lovely week. You came to our rescue! Enjoyed the peace. The cottage is lovely. Plenty of birds in the garden. We will be back. Thank you for the extras. P & B, June 2019

Lovely, enjoyable stay at your beautiful cottage. Very peaceful place. Welcome pack a lovely touch and much appreciated. Good base to explore many of the great places around. Weather mixed but it didn't stop us getting around. Very much a home from home. Loved the artwork around the cottage. Will come back again. Thank you Louise and Harris. C, S & B, Fort William & Edinburgh, June 2019

We have had a lovely week in this very homely cottage. Thank you for the welcome pack and the girls enjoyed the toys! We have explored many places. We would recommend Ford/Etal Railway, Paxton House, Spittal beach with its water play park area, the play park in Berwick and the family fun session at the swimming pool - Swan Leisure Centre. Thank you again. A, A, S & C, North Yorks, May 2019

We had a great time staying in your lovely, pretty cottage. The surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful. We appreciate your attention to detail - the cookies lovely! We have had fun despite the weather. We did the Lowry trail in Berwick which is a great way to see the town and ended up doing a pub quiz in the Waterloo! Thanks for everything.  G & A, April 2019

Thank you for a lovely peaceful few days in your cottage. Beds are so comfy and also for our welcome pack - it was very much appreciated. It has been a home from home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. L & M, Edinburgh, March 2019

Thank you Louise and Harris. We have once again enjoyed the peace and quiet very much. We will miss the big skies and beautiful countryside. The weather has also been kind - with more sunshine than rain! Thank you also for the very welcome goodies we received on arrival. PS Henry enjoyed the garden again and, thankfully, wasn't interested in digging up the flower bed this time! Very best wishes A & A, September 2018

Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful cottage. It is so comfortable! The welcome gifts were such a pleasant surprise and delicious. We have loved being in Northumberland and the Borders. What a beautiful part of the world. Everything seems very grand. The beaches are glorious. We went to Edinburgh which was such a wonderful, vibrant city (of course it was Fringe Week as well!). Jedburgh, Alnwick and Berwick are great to spend time in. Thanks again Louise and Harris. Well worth the journey. Love M, A & B, Wales, August 2018

We have had a wonderful stay at the cottage and the weather has been kind to us. We enjoyed visits to Eyemouth, Paxton House and gardens and Berwick. There is so much to do in the area, we will most certainly be back. Many, many thanks to Louise and Harris for another fabulous visit. J, B & M, Fife, July/August 2018

What a wonderful cottage and location - so quiet and peaceful. The garden was perfect for our dog Rex - so lovely to be able to relax in the garden with him - he loved sunbathing on the lawn as did we! Had some lovely walks along the coast - St Abbs Head - spectacular. Loved Berwick - what a lovely town - fabulous views from the walls. Thank you so much - felt so at home and relaxed. What an amazing place. B, D & Rex, Blackburn, Lancashire, July 2018

Louise and Harris, what can we say. Superb hosts and so kind and caring. We have had a really lovely stay in your comfortable and homely cottage. We have visited all the places we know and love and also some new places that are just as beautiful - Low Newton Sands were so lovely. Our goodies were very much appreciated and very enjoyable. Hope we will be back again as soon as we can. Best wishes from C & M, Little Eaton, Derbyshire, July 2018

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed at. For us it's been a bit of a trip down memory lane having last been in this area in 1992. Odd as it may seem we weren't here for the weather - although it was hot and sunny. We weren't here for the gourmet cooking - but the Cullen Skink at St Abbs Head was a find along with other local dishes. We have found the cottage a home from home - thank you Louise and Harris! We'd recommend the following to visit - Embleton Bay with the view of the castle, St Abbs Head walk, Lindsfarne. We know there is so much more too! The view from the bedroom window of trees silhouetted against "night" sky is stunning! That is a painting in itself. A, C & S, Hampshire, June/July 2018

Thank you Louise and Harris for the use of your beautiful cottage. The enclosed garden was brilliant for our little dog Bernard and so were the lovely dog-friendly beaches, Eyemouth, Coldingham Bay, Spittal, Fisherman's Cove...all wonderful. We have really enjoyed our stay! S & A, Pontefract, W. Yorks, June 2018

Absolutely enchanted by the lovely cottage, friendliness of the natives and, of course, by the sheer beauty of the area - both sides of the border. Very dog-friendly wherever we went. Our fave places were Bamburgh and its stunning beach; wild and rocky St Abbs with its sweet cafe by the harbour; Alnwick - especially Barter Books, Cafe Bari and the walk in the meadows below the Castle; Edinburgh, fascinating and beautiful city, and the coast walk south of Craster. Also Paxton House has a dog-friendly tea rooms. We are sad to leave this magical place, can't wait till next time. Thank you so much, N & A, Brighton, Sussex, June 2018

To Louise & Harris. Yet again we have had the most wonderful stay at Gable End - our fourth in fact! It really does feel a home from home and after two weeks of exploring the area we can't wait to come back to explore more. It was our first cats' visit too and I think they had more fun than we did on all their adventures. Thank you a thousand times over again for making this place so special. Love from R & S plus Jenna & Tippy the cats, Cheshire May/June 2018

This is our second stay here at Gable End Cottage and as the last time we have enjoyed our stay very much. The weather has been lovely therefore we enjoyed relaxing in the lovely garden, also been all over the Borders. Thank you Louise for another wonderful stay at your cottage - hope to see you again. A, I & family, Falkirk, May 2018

A wonderful, restful stay in your lovely cottage surrounded by gorgeous countryside and amazing sites. We really felt at home here in your cosy cottage and it was lovely to meet you both. So thank you for making us feel so welcome. We hope you enjoyed the tea and look forward to staying with you again when we make our next trip over from Holland! A, M, E & C, Holland, Dec 2017/Jan 2018

Here to research my husband's family tree in and around Eccles. What a wonderful part of the world to come from. We have enjoyed wonderful weather and are so impressed with this area. Everywhere you look there is something delightful including the Cheviot Hills...R & K, Somerset, October 2017

Thank you Louise and Harris for a lovely week in your cottage. It was peaceful & quiet and is set in a lovely setting, we couldn't have asked for more. Also a big thank you for the little extras you provided on our arrival - it made a big difference and made us feel most welcome. We have travelled all over the Borders and found it beautiful. We hope to return in the future and will be singing big praises to our friends and family regarding Gable End Cottage. Love and Best wishes I & A, Falkirk, September 2017

Another perfect stay. Couldn't wish for more. Thank you Louise and Harris. Love and best wishes P and K, August 2017

Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage in the most stunning setting. All of us have enjoyed the Festival and the beautiful places of interest. We would also like to thank Geoff...who has walked our dog and allowed us the freedom to enjoy all that this lovely area has to offer. Thank you for a lovely stay. S, J, E and D, August 2017

We have really enjoyed staying here in Gable End Cottage for the week, a real home from home experience with all the little extras you provided within the cottage a very lovely surprise! Lovely surroundings quiet and tranquil! The girls have also enjoyed their stay and did not want to leave this morning! We enjoyed the beaches at Seahouses and Bamburgh, an enjoyable trip to East Links Farm Park which the girls loved in Dunbar. A trip on the train to Edinburgh for the day and M took part in a performance on the Fringe! We also got some bargains at Berwick car boot sale and enjoyed Berwick town. Thanks for a great stay! H, K, M & I, August 2017

Thank you Louise and Harris for a lovely few days in this gorgeous cottage.  Thank you for the welcome pack - this is a lovely touch. We visited some lovely places along the Scottish coast - the walk from the Nature Reserve in St Abbs is stunning. Looking in your book "Scottish Borders from Above" inspired us to visit Cove Harbour, North Berwick and Dunbar - all worth recommending to others.  The walk down to the River Whiteadder from the cottage is gorgeous too. We hope to be back to stay here as it is a perfect place to relax and re-charge. M, A & J, Ilkley, May 2017

A little oasis of peace and calm in an otherwise chaotic world! Highlights: Paxton House and grounds, walks by the Tweed, Holy Island - check sail crossing times.  A & A, Hay-on-Wye, Wales, May 2017

What a peaceful place this is for rest and relaxation.  We have also been blessed with decent weather. Would highly recommend the pub at Paxton for lunch - fish and chips excellent. Thank you for the welcome pack.  A, G and Molly, Otley, May 2017

Thank you for a lovely few days celebrating my birthday and Easter. The cottage is lovely and has been very much enjoyed by all including Pablo the dog! We are very much hoping to return sometime. Thanks again, M, J-W, D and Pablo, April 2017

A lovely week in a great cottage and location.  We have enjoyed the week including visiting Holy Island, Alnwick and puffins at Seahouses.  T, A, F & A, April 2017

A beautiful remote location - peaceful and comfortable. I've done many walks around the village and Northumberland Trail - Dunstanburgh Castle was a treat. The weather too has been great. Ruby (KC spaniel) has loved it. The St Abbs Market every Friday at the Old School House and Cafe was worth a visit. Nice quality crafts, art and fish. Dressed crab for supper tonight. Taking my sandy shoes and wellies home tomorrow. I hope I can come again. Your artwork is fantastic Harris. Thank you both. J,M & R, Perthshire, August/September 2016

What a lovely cottage - so well equipped and welcoming. Surrounded by fields and peace - just what we wanted! Bamburgh and Lindsfarne were highlights especially as we saw a seal. Beautiful night skies and saw a shooting star or two. A really relaxing break much enjoyed by all and especially our dog! Thanks so much - will recommend to all! J, G, M, A & M, Portsmouth, Hampshire, August 2016

Thank you for a lovely stay in your cottage. We had a brilliant holiday and also had the hot weather with it. We could not have wished for a better cottage to stay in and would like to thank Louise and Harris for our welcome pack which was greatly appreciated. We visited many places: Seahouses, Bamburgh, Berwick, Etal and Ford and many others but always looked forward to coming back to the relaxed atmosphere at the cottage. Hope to see you next year. R, A & J, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, August 2016

We have really enjoyed our week. Lovely cottage, brilliant directions to get here. So peaceful and relaxing. Found plenty to do. Lindisfarne, Bamburgh beach and Cragside House well worth a visit. Thank you for the welcome goodies. Very much appreciated. R & L, Colchester, Essex, July/August 2016

Brilliant - Exceptional - Fabulous are the words to describe our stay here at Gable End, couldn't ask for more. Thank you for our welcome pack - very much appreciated, the area is beautiful and exactly what we like, the cottage - well you don't want to leave. Explored further into Scotland this time and took the train up to Edinburgh from Berwick for the day. Of course visited Bamburgh - all time favourite.  Will most definitely return and will recommend to everyone we know.  Love J, C, C, R and Misty the dog, Oldham, July 2016

Thank you for a lovely stay in your lovely cottage. We have had a good week. Lots of busy days, lots to do and lots of walks which the dogs enjoyed too.  Weather good too which was a bonus! The welcome pack was a lovely surprise (the wine went down well)! We will definitely be back and would stay here in Gable End Cottage. Thank you again, P & D, Norfolk, July 2016

Our fifth visit to Louise and Harris but our first in Gable End Cottage which is just as lovely as next door.  The dog loved the garden and the nearby beaches - there are some superb ones in Northumberland and lots of walks.  We had visits to Paxton House gardens (dogs allowed) and a day out to Falkirk to see the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, both amazing structures! Will hopefully see you next year - the only question is...which cottage do we pick next year?  Best wishes J, I & Salvo (the staffie), Birmingham, June 2016.

True to our word we came back to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This time we treated ourselves to two weeks in the piece of heaven called Gable End Cottage.  The first week we visited many places including Paxton House and Manderston House and also explored East Lothian and Nunraw Abby - the monks are so welcoming.  The second week involved lots and lots of relaxing and admiring the views.  A visit to Mertoun Gardens and a shop in Berwick rounded off our visit.  We adore it here, it truly is a little piece of heaven.  Thank you so much Louise and Harris.  We will see you later in the year.  Best Wishes S & R, Lymm, Cheshire, May/June 2016

Dear Louise and Harris, We came away for some rest and relaxation and that's exactly what we got. The cottage is perfect, it has everything you need! Thank you for the welcome goodies - very thoughtful of you. We loved exploring the area and hope to be back. C,C,J & S the spaniel, Cumbria, April 2016

Thank you for making our mini break perfect! Your cottage is beautiful. We wanted for nothing, other than a baby sitter! Loved - the art work, cleanliness, the layout, baby friendliness, garden for the boys, welcome pack, location, directions to the cottage, chocolates for the boys, the beds (boys thought theirs were very cosy). Hated - going home! Highlight of the weekend - seeing dolphins at Bamburgh beach.  S,D,E,M and J, Sheffield, March/April 2016

Dear Louise and Harris, Thank you for such a lovely but brief stay in Gable End. Very comfortable and well equipped. We haven't travelled too far but meant we have seen quite a few places along the coast. Our daughter loved her room and especially the easter egg on the table! If you have children staying Dunbar Animal Park is worth a visit. We also found two lovely restaurants/pubs but you have to book - Allanton Inn and The Queen's Head in Berwick. Thank you. C, P & B, Blaydon, March 2016

This is our second break at Gable End Cottage, both enjoyable stays - thank you. Cottage ideally situated for the "fisherman" on the Whiteadder - and an easily accessible walk for the "fishing widow". I only wish we had found Gable End sooner. We will be back - thank you.  E & C, Worksop, Notts, March 2016

Dear Louise and Harris, We've had a lovely week in your cottage, thank you very much. It's been delightful. The weather has been kind and the clear sky at night has been amazing! It's been great to spend some time with our niece and her husband...Thank you also for the welcome gifts. J & P, Bournemouth, October 2015

Thanks for letting us stay in your cottage.  We have had a super week with lovely weather.  The quietness is very different to our own home on a busy main road.  We appreciate the superb farming in this area.  Thanks again, J & C, Derbyshire, September 2015

A very relaxing week in this lovely cottage which got off to a special start as the whole family spent the first weekend with us.  The weather has been very kind and we've got out and about lots. Paxton House, Ford and Etal Railway, walk around "old" Berwick, a round of golf, Coldingham Bay and St Abbs Head, Melrose - all highly recommended.  Thanks for a lovely stay again this year.  J & J, Gateshead, August 2015

Dear Louise and Harris, We have both really enjoyed our week's stay at Gable End. After spending 3 days in Durham, which was interesting, it was lovely to come and stay here with such splendid golden views! Been about visiting great houses and castles and loved Lindisfarne, Holy Island and Priory - a good day out! Berwick itself has great history with interesting walks and museums. Thank you so much for a delightful week in your "lovely homely cottage". Our good wishes, P & L, Hampshire, August 2015

Loved our stay here. So cosy and peaceful. A joy to be living in the countryside even for a short time. Reminds me so much of childhood. Thanks for the welcome pack. Best wishes J & D, Helensburgh, June/July 2015

To Louise and Harris, Thank you both for making us feel so welcome on our return to the cottage.  What a treat you left us to kick off our honeymoon with a bang! We have loved spending a week relaxing in the cottage enjoying the (very windy) view. We are sad to leave but now with some artwork and cards with us for our wedding guests we now can't wait till we return same time next year. Kind regards and best wishes S & R, Lymm, Cheshire, May/June 2015

Thanks so much for letting us stay in Gable End once again.  A few firsts this time.  First time we have been in December and first time we've seen woodpecker (heard him on numerous occasions!).  If you like fresh seafood you must try Berwick Seafood on road towards Spittal.  Lobster, crab, scallop, langoustines, oysters (oh first time tried these).  If it was any fresher it would be swimming in the sea! And great prices too.  Various walks around Hutton were enjoyed despite below freezing temperatures.  Even the snow couldn't dampen our enthusiasm, it's been great.  R, K, J & J, Yorkshire, December 2014

Louise and Harris, Thank you for letting us come again to Gable End, it is such a tranquil place we never tire of coming.  Once settled, our 16 year old cat "Jet" thoroughly enjoyed his stay...We bought a new ordnance survey map and discovered some fantastic single track roads across the Lammermuir Hills - so remote and wild and absolutely no traffic.  Cannot believe the weather 20-23C all week apart from today...It was nice to catch up again and hopefully we will see you soon.  Lots of Love K, R & J, Yorkshire, September/October 2014

Lovely comfortable cottage in a super location.  Weather has been very kind.  Lots to see and do - lovely coastal villages and interesting historic houses and castles nearby.  Will be back.  A-M & J, September 2014

We have really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful cottage.  The weather has been lovely and found some new places to visit.  For garden lovers Howick Gardens are a real treat.  Coldingham beach is very pretty.  Louise thank you for the welcome pack - it was much appreciated.  Hope to be back in the near future.  Best wishes C & M, Derbyshire, August/September 2014

Louise and Harris - another brilliant stay.  Thanks for everything you do to make our holidays so fantastic.  Been to all the usual haunts and a few new ones.  It was good to have J and H with us, especially as H hadn't been before so making the holiday a great family affair...Cross Inn at Paxton is a must for Sunday lunch, voted excellent by all!  Cannot wait to return.  Big thanks K, R, J & H, Yorkshire, August 2014

Amazed at how quiet it is here!  Lovely and peaceful cottage.  Weather not great to start the week but improved towards the end which was nice.  Visited some lovely places and can recommend The Cross Inn in Paxton - very good food and family friendly.  Great day at Paxton House and we absolutely loved Etal and their tea room there.  Cookie, our dog, loved the gardens here and we were visited once or twice by the pheasants which was nice to see.  Thank you Louise and Harris for the great welcome pack.  It was much appreciated especially our favourite shortbread!  Love Harris' artwork by the way.  C, A, M and Cookie the dog, Sunderland, August 2014

Lovely welcome pack - many thanks!  Weather has been very good - not too hot for the dogs.  Reuben and Hugo have loved the garden here - very private and with lovely views.  Berwick has some lovely views, walking the town walls.  Drove up to Edinburgh - parking was easy at Holyrood car park.  Visited Lindisfarne and Bamburgh (stunning beach and castle).  Eyemouth and St Abbs fishing harbours are interesting.  Low Newton Beach (1 hour drive) is gorgeous.  Parking cheap and almost on the beach.  Thank you for a lovely stay Louise and Harris.  J, S & I, Sandwich Kent and St Austell, July 2014

Thanks Louise and Harris.  Another lovely stay at Gable End.  Weather fantastic, great days out and endless beach walks!  Best wishes W & S, Kent, June 2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  What can we say?  Our week's stay in your cottage has been utter perfection!  We have been so fortunate with the weather and having our meals outside looking at the breath taking view has been such a treat!  We have loved exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders - it has been something we will never forget.  Believe us when we say we will be back (hopefully for our honeymoon, fingers crossed).  With best wishes and much gratitude, R & S, Lymm, Cheshire, May/June2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  Would just like to say thank you for our overnight stay at Gable End Cottage.  Everything was perfect!  Very tranquil, beautiful setting and very well equipped.  We will be back again in the future.  L & D. May 2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  Really, really enjoyed our stay as we have done every time we stayed.  Thanks also for being able to accommodate K's sister and her husband for a couple of nights at such short notice - it was very much appreciated by all.  It has been a fabulous week in Gable End - so very peaceful and comfortable combined with mostly decent weather.  Whilst here in the garden have seen buzzards, hares boxing, loads of other wildlife including hearing (but not seeing!) a woodpecker close by.  We are always sad to leave but it is nice to know we will be back in August.  It was nice to catch up again, so take care and see you soon.  K & R, Maltby, April 2014

What a relaxing week!  I've really enjoyed my week at Gable End - it really is a wonderfully peaceful and calm location.  There is nothing to want more in the cottage - everything is of excellent quality.  I'll definitely be back!  S, West Lothian, April 2014

Many thanks for another super stay.  We have enjoyed a very restful and relaxing week here with lovely walks at Paxton House and Berwick.  We are already looking forward to returning later in the year.  Thanks again.  J, B & M, Fife, December/January 2014

Thank you Louise for the last minute holiday.  Loved being in Gable End Cottage - comfy and cosy.  Been very lucky with the weather.  Done lots of walking.  Went and sat at the side of the River Tweed (the Junction Pool - only fishermen would understand!) at Kelso.  Heaven.  Well worth a visit to Roslyn Chapel near Edinburgh.  Thank you again Louise and Harris.  Had a brilliant holiday.  Hope to see you again.  M & G. Castleford, September 2013

A lovely relaxing week in this beautiful part of the world.  Cottage peaceful and very comfortable - welcome pack much appreciated after the long journey!  Stunning views over the countryside.  Everyone very friendly and helpful.  Paxton House visit very interesting and we saw them netting salmon.  Managed a trip to Edinburgh to the Festival.  Berwick is an interesting place - wandered the castle walls and the Lowry trail.  St Abbs and the coast favourites.  Thanks A & R, Bristol, August 2013

What a nice and peaceful week in your lovely cottage.  Great weather, so much to see and to do in this area...and always nice to return after a grand day out - home.  Thank you so much Louise and Harris for the warm welcome.  B & M, Duisburg, Germany, August 2013

We've had an amazing time this week.  Even the weather has behaved!  It is so peaceful here that relaxing is made easy.   The cottage is so beautiful .  I'm sure we will return for another visit.  P & K, Lancs, August 2013

Thank you Louise and Harris for another marvellous stay in your lovely cottage.  We feel so relaxed and chilled out after recharging our batteries and believe me they needed recharging!  Wishing you the very best and hope to see you again very soon.  R & K, Maltby, July/August 2013

A long drive but worth it.  Lovely cottage with everything and great views of the local countryside (very lucky with weather!).  Dogs in seventh heaven, love the beaches!  Loads of wildlife to be seen, dipper, grey wagtail, l.s woodpecker, sand martins (and tree sparrows in the garden!), seals, hare etc.  Go and have a poke around 'Concorde' at East Fortune (National Museum of Flight)!  Totally restful apart from having my hat knocked off by an RAF Tornado!  Try a rare roast beef sandwich at Ednam House by the Tweed in Kelso.  Thanks to Louise and Harris.  Until next time.  S & W plus F & I (the westies!) Sandwich, Kent, June 2013

Thank you Louise and Harris for such a warm welcome.  We had a lovely week in your comfy cottage and great weather, feel relaxed and ready for anything.  See you soon.  K, R, G & R, W. Yorks, June 2013

Glorious start to the week, sitting out in warm sunshine, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.  Weather deteriorated, but not our enjoyment of the place and its surroundings.  Wonderful places to explore in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, and a very comfortable place to return to in the evenings.  A pleasure!  S & C, Edinburgh, May 2013

Another good week (apart from the weather!!).  Cottage was just right, even new television!!  Food in local pub
