Cowar Cottage is a traditional stone built Galloway cottage with a self contained annexe (used by the owners occasionally at the weekend) attached to it. The cottage has a southerly aspect and sits entirely on its own in an elevated position giving lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is ample off road parking and a large garden to relax in.

The accommodation comprises:  
  • 1 double and 2 twin bedrooms.
  • Bathroom with shower over bath.
  • Large lounge with multi fuel stove, colour TV, DVD player, and HiFi system.
  • The farmhouse style fully fitted kitchen has hob/oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, 2 comfy armchairs, and a table with seating for 6.
  • A south facing conservatory completes the relaxing ambience of the cottage.

 Facilities:  
  • The oil fired central heating and hot water are on a timer and are included in the cost of the let at all times of the year.
  • Double glazed throughout.
  • One basket of logs supplied (more available locally to purchase).
  • On request there is a secure area for bike storage.
  • Bed linen and towels are generally NOT provided. Please bring sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers and towels. There is however a store of bedlinen if required (a small charge applies).

Sorry no smoking in the cottage.

The Area:
The surrounding area can provide many activities from strenuous hill walks, pony trekking and golf (6 courses within 15 mins drive) to quiet evening strolls along sandy beaches or country lanes.

The nearest beaches are only a short drive away at Rockcliffe or Kippford, while lovely forest walks can be found at Dalbeattie. The Laurie Arms which is 2 miles away along quiet country lanes offers good value home cooked meals in its bar, restaurant or take away service.
