Cockle Kitty Cottage is on an organic farm in a special corner of the Scottish Borders just three miles from Kelso. A perfect place for a break no matter what the season. There is a wood burner and oil c/h. Kelso is just 3 miles, Berwick half an hour and Edinburgh an hours drive. Wifi, sky TV and tennis court, river walks.

One field away is the River Eden which is a tributary of the River Tweed. The Eden is fenced off with no stock permitted to graze therefore encouraging a great variety of wildlife like kingfishers, owls, families of otters, heron, fieldmice, deer and much more. Along the river is a hectare of wild flower meadow and sunflowers.

Cockle Kitty is on the East side of the Barn. It has 2 bedrooms, one very comfortable king size bed with crisp Christies linen and fluffy towels and one twin bed room with TV. One bathroom with overbath electric shower. The kitchen is well equipped and has a door out to the decking with comfortable garden furniture. A perfect sun trap!

Adjacent to the kitchen is the sitting room / dining room which has a wood burning stove and oil central heating and a round rose wood dining table and comfortable chairs. It is a spacious room with a huge Arch window which bathes the sitting room in natural light. Large screen TV with sky including a sports package. WiFi.

Enjoy the freedom of wandering around Cliftonhill Farm and along the River Eden and enjoy our barn owls, kingfisher, otter and deer. Stroll into Kelso, a wonderful market town described by Sir Walter Scott as 'The most beautiful, if not the most romantic town in Scotland'. It has a glorious setting, nestling in the Cheviots, with the River Tweed sweeping round the backs of pretty Georgian cottages and the unusual octagonal parish church. The 18th century cobbled square and handsome townhouses give Kelso the elegant air of a French market town. It is steeped in history - Kelso Abbey and Floors Castle. The Borders also has marked walks and cycle routes. Kelso boasts wonderful shops and garden centres and eating places.
