Boulder House  is a modern self-catering seaside cottage, with stunning views over Gruinard Bay, An Teallach, the Sutherland Mountains and the Summer Isles. The village of Laide, with a post office, general store and petrol, is perfectly located to explore the beautiful west-coast beaches and is only 8 miles from the renowned National Trust for Scotland gardens at Inverewe. From Ullapool, an hour to the north the ferry goes to the Hebrides and the Isle of Skye is a two hour drive to the south. Boulder House is the perfect base for all sorts of local activities. There is a jetty within 500m, rugged walking as well as serious mountaineering and a pretty 9 hole golf course at Gairloch only a 30min. drive away. For those interested in fishing there is also the sea and the lochs. The area abounds in wildlife with otters, seals, dolphins, great northern divers, curlews, oyster catchers and eagles to be seen regularly. Whale-watching expeditions from Gairloch operate in the summer months.

Accommodation  
  • An open-plan design with french windows overlooking the sea provides the house with some of the most spectacular views in Scotland.
     
  • In front is a spacious decking area equipped with wooden garden furniture offering the perfect setting to enjoy this scenery.
      
  • A modern black and white theme runs throughout the house with smooth charcoal coloured floor tiles covering the entire ground floor.
     
  • The kitchen is fully fitted to the newest standards with dishwasher,  ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge and freezer. A utility room with washer-dryer is located next to the kitchen.
     
  • There is an oil-fired central heating system with an additional solid fuel and wood burning stove in the living room area.
      
  • In addition to this spacious living area on the ground floor there is also a bathroom with wet room and toilet.
     
  • On the first floor are two double bedrooms with Velux windows to the back of the house and dormer windows facing the sea.
      
  • First thing in the morning sitting up in bed, you can see the sun rise over the hills on the other side of Gruinard bay.
     
  • A double sofabed on the landing offers the possibility of sleeping room for two more guests. On this floor there is also a second toilet.
