Summer is here and the leaves are green, now the weather is picking up the moors and valleys are stunning.  We can't promise unbroken sunshine but when it happens, and even if it doesn't, the area is so peaceful, even the most stressed visitors unwind in an hour or two.  The curlews sound above the haymeadows and lapwings are nesting among the lambs in the field behind the cottage.

On a clear day, climb to the top of Boltslaw in under an hour, and enjoy the 360 degrees view, or play or birdwatch in the Boltsburn valley.  It's about a 2 mile walk to the pub or tearoom in Blanchland and well worth the effort!

For  a delicious meal, the newly refurbished Lord Crewe Arms pub/hotel in Blanchland has a great menu and reports are excellent! Local meats are currently on the menu. There is also a bar at the Sports Club.

Many of  our guests come back again and again and one family like the cottage and area so much they came for four weeks in 2013 and eight weeks in 2015 and then bought the house next door!! Recent guests include a couple who have been coming for about 20 years and are now retiring to the area!

Some guests returned after a long break and wrote "Many thanks - everything is perfect in the cottage and it was lovely to be back."
