Alba Highland Cottages consist of 2 cottages, Ptarmigan and Osprey, situated at Boat of Garten, 5 miles from Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park in the Central Highlands. They are located in a quiet hamlet surrounded by woods, and they are newly built to a high standard, spacious throughout and designed with access for disability including disabled toilet and wetroom.

PTARMIGAN has:  
  • 3 bedrooms including master bedroom with king sized bed and ensuite and 2 bedrooms with twins.
  • It has a large open kitchen with dining area and utility room, leading onto decking with outside furniture.
  • It is heated by oil fired central heating with underfloor heating. In addition it has a wood burning stove in the lounge.
  • It has downstairs sitting area with flat screen TV.
  • The main lounge is upstairs with IPOD deck, DVD, flat screen TV and surrounding cinema system along with wood burning stove.
  • Main bathroom is upstairs with disabled toilet/ wetroom downstairs.
  • The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge and freezer, dryer and washing machine, microwave and electric cooker.
OSPREY has:  
  • 5 bedrooms including bedroom with king sized bed and 4 twin rooms - 2 of which have ensuite.
  • A large open kitchen leads onto dining area, sitting area, utility room and opens onto decking with garden furniture.
  • It has downstairs a flat screen TV and DVD.
  • Upstairs lounge has TV/DVD and table top football.
  • Downstairs there is disabled toilet and wetroom.
  • Upstairs has bathroom and toilet in addition to the ensuite facilities.
  • It is heated by oil fired central heating.

The location  is quiet and secluded with views across to the Cairngorm Mountains. The garden gets regular visits from red squirrels, a multitude of birds including woodpeckers and occasional roe deer.  
  • Pets welcome by arrangement.

Location  
  • It is a mile from Boat of Garten which has a shop, post office, restaurants and a hotel.
  • It is home to the Strathspey Steam Railway, has a golf course, tennis courts and fishing on the Spey.
  • Bicycle hire is available and multiple cycle tracts are in surrounding area along with woodland walks.
  • Loch Garten is nearby where Ospreys can be viewed at the RSPB nature reserve.
  • Skiing at the Cairngorm Mountain Resort is available in the winter months along with cross country skiing depending on conditions.
  • The cottages provide easy access to exploring the Highlands with Loch Ness, Inverness nearby and Balmoral also within easy reach.
  • Glasgow and Edinburgh are within 3hrs journey by car.
  • Aviemore provides rail links to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. Inverness Airport is less than an hour away.
