Badenoch & Strathspey
Beyond doubt, Badenoch & Strathspey, right in the centre of the Scottish Highlands and the Cairngorm National Park, offers an unrivalled choice of activities and pursuits for all ages and tastes all year round, in some of the most magnificent scenery imaginable. Whether you wish to make the most of the 'Great Outdoors' just relax in these wonderful surroundings or spend your holiday touring the rest of the Highlands - from the rugged West coast to the splendour of Royal Deeside - Fraser and Telford Cottages will make a perfect holiday base.

Here are a few examples of how you can spend your holiday:

Watersports: (May-Oct) Loch Insh Watersports (half mile) offers sailing, canoeing & windsurfing with equipment hire and instruction available.

Riding: Alvie Stables (4 miles) provides hourly & daily countryside rides through Alvie Estate and the foothills of the Monadhliaths.

Birdwatching: Badenoch & Strathspey is one of Britain's finest locations for a wide variety of birds from the flood plains of the RSPB Insh Marshes Reserve to the ptarmigan and dotterels of the high tops and the now famous ospreys or, in the forests, to the crossbill (the only species of bird which is solely indigenous to Britain). The well known Loch Garten and Loch Ruthven Reserves are also in easy reach.

The Highland Wildlife Park: (2.5 miles) specialises in Scotland's wildlife, past and present, along with endangered animals of the world's mountains and tundra regions.

Walking/Cycling: A vast choice of terrain - craggy mountains, peaceful forests, crystal clear rivers & enchanting lochs. Find us on Sustrans' Cycle Route 7 and the Badenoch Way.

Fishing: for salmon, trout, arctic char and pike can be arranged on a number of local rivers and lochs.

Golf: There are four excellent 18 hole golf courses in easy reach - at Newtonmore, Kingussie, Boat of Garten & Grantown on Spey.

Clay Pigeon Shooting: At two local estates.

Skiing: Cairngorm (15 miles) offers some of the best alpine skiing in Scotland, whilst the forests of the Strath provide endless trails for cross-country skiing.
