Location - The house faces the Llantysilio Mountain range over which the picturesque 'Horseshoe Pass' road traverses to nearby Llangollen (8 miles).
- Plas yn ial is set within 35 acres of semi-natural ancient woodland. A further 155 acres surrounding the house is farmed by the Beech family in an environmentally sensitive manner as a working family farm.

Historic 'Yale Hall', known as Plas yn ial, is the ancestral home of Elihu Yale, who in 1718 helped to establish the famous Yale University in Connecticut, USA, which was named after him.
