Woodside Cottage is situated on a south facing slope in Glenbuchat, Aberdeenshire, a secluded glen in the foothills of the Grampian Mountains within the Cairngorms National Park.

Accommodation

The cottage is well equipped and centrally heated with a wood stove for cold nights.
The garden is enclosed with a patio for sitting out and admiring the stunning views of the glen and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Also unpolluted skies make stargazing rewarding.
A base to explore from or a haven to retreat to, Woodside Cottage is next to a wood of Scots Pine where deer, rabbits, buzzards and red squirrels are often seen.
Woodside is a single storey cottage but steps up to the front door may mean it is unsuitable for some disabled people. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Location

Walks from the cottage and nearby include forestry, moor land, ancient smugglers trails and old drove roads. Mountain bikers can use forestry tracks and new downhill tracks at the Lecht, the popular ski centre, 12 miles away.
Golf, fishing on the River Don and lochs, and horse riding can be arranged in the locality.
Ideally situated for days out to Royal Deeside and Balmoral, the Whisky Trail of Speyside, the Coastal Trail of the Moray Firth and the Castle Trail of Aberdeenshire.
Glenbuchat Castle guards the entrance to the glen and is free to explore.
Nearest Spar shop 5 miles, garage with petrol 3 miles, pubs with meals 3 miles and 5 miles.
