 Woodpecker Cottage is a cosy rural retreat situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Dale Abbey, famous for its unique semi-detached church and medieval abbey ruins. The cottage retains many original features including beams and a working bread-oven, whilst offering modern home comforts such as a dishwasher and full gas central heating. It is ideally situated for visiting the many places of interest in the area and for touring. - The local pleasant country pub is reached by a lovely walk through the meadow next to the cottage leading to the bluebell wood with its Hermit's cave, on through the centre of the village and takes only a few minutes.
- Although rurally located the cottage is only a 5 minute country road drive to major roads making touring the surrounding area easy and quick.
- Within 30 minutes you are able to visit the Peak District and the many beautiful stately homes of Derbyshire, or a short 15 minute drive will take you to the city of Nottingham with its fantastic shopping, castle and Robin Hood connections.
Accommodation The lounge has wooden beams and floor, wood-burning stove, TV/DVD, comfy settees (one of which is a bed settee) and a bookcase with various books and games. The dining room again has wooden beams and floor, table and chairs, original working bread-oven and a radio/cd player. The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave, a washing machine is available in the utility room. The downstairs bathroom offers a modern white suite with over-bath shower.Towels are included. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double, one twin bedded. All linen is included. Outside the property is a secure private garden with ample off-road parking, lawned area and patio area and flower beds. Facilities - Gas / Electric included.
