The Isle of Cumbrae is reached by a ten minute ferry ride from the town of Largs on the Scottish Ayrshire coast. Cumbrae is four miles long and one mile wide. The village of Millport has a beautiful setting in a south facing bay warmed by the Gulf Stream. The palm tree fringed esplanade is flanked by a harbour and sandy beaches, looking out over small pleasure boats and little islets frequented by seals. Windsor Villa is a detached property at the edge of the village, five minutes walk from the village centre. The recently renovated upstairs flat is available for holiday rent.

Things to do (all within a few minutes walk):
Cycle round the island - everyone does it, aged 5 to 95. It's safe and flat, with plenty unspoiled picnic areas en route. Bike hire £4.60 for a full day (more for tandems and buggy-pullers).
Boat trips: seal and porpoise spotting round the Isle of Little Cumbrae, or take the paddle steamer Waverley to nearby Arran or the Kyles of Bute.

Walking trails.
Shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes.
Summer classical concerts in the Cathedral of the Isles.
Excellent 18 hole golf course with stunning views over the Isles of Arran and Bute.
