 Whim Farm is situated just outside the village of Monyash. The cottages enjoy privacy and are accessible via a private hard surfaced lane running alongside wooded areas. They provide an excellent centre for walking, cycling and sight seeing. The Tissington and High Peak trail offer great traffic free cycling and the walking opportunities are endless. Close by are many places of interest including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton caves and Alton Towers. - The market town of Bakewell is 20 minutes drive away, with its many tea rooms, restaurants, as well as the famous Bakewell tart.
- The Spa town of Buxton is a similar distance away and has the magnificent opera house, Roman baths, the Crescent and Pavillion Gardens.
Accommodation The old farm buildings have been tastefully converted to a high standard, retaining many of the original features to provide excellently equipped cottages. Outside there is a large gravelled area, extensive parking, lawn, patio with furniture, cycle storage shed and dog excercise area. The footpath leading across the field from the cottages leads to a rare breeds farm at a local pub/restaurant with loads of character, where walking boots and dogs are welcome. Carthorse Cottage has 3 bedrooms - sleeping 6 people.
End Shippon has 2 bedrooms - sleeping 4 people.
Both cottages can be booked together: All 10 guests can easily dine together in comfort at the large, oak, extendable dining table in the open plan area of End Shippon Cottage.
Ground Floors - Both have wood burners, tiled floors and beamed ceilings.
- Carthorse Cottage has kitchen/diner and separate lounge, whilst End Shippon is open plan.
- Provided are Microwave, Washer/ dryer, Fridge, Cooker.
First floors - Wooden floors throughout.
- Each has a spacious double and a pretty twin room, with Carthorse cottage having an additional bunk bed room.
- Carthorse cottage has a power shower over a bath whilst End Shippon has a shower only.
Central heating and hot water available 24 hrs a day.
Towels and linen provided.
Travel cot and stair gate available.
Two well behaved pets welcome per cottage, dog exercise area. |
