Wayside Cottage is situated in the quiet village of Lartington, a 5 minute drive from the bustling market town of Barnard Castle. The fully centrally heated cottage has retained its traditional character with an open fire in the sitting room, beamed ceiling in the dining room, french windows, window seats and off road parking. There is open countryside to the rear beyond the large back garden and patio area. Close by are many delightful country pubs, local restaurants and great places of interest. There are miles of cycle routes and way marked walks from the doorstep.
 
Accommodation: Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bed, Bedroom 2 with double bed. Bathroom: Upstairs fully tiled family bathroom with bath, WC, washbasin, shaving point, and separate shower cubicle. Kitchen: Modern fitted kitchen overlooking rear garden with views over the fields. Table and chairs to seat 4, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, kettle, toaster etc. Utility Room: Housing the washing machine and tumble dryer. Living Rooms: Sitting room has an open fire (honesty box for logs and coal). French windows to side garden. Dining room with beamed ceiling, window seat and marble fireplace. Other: Downstairs cloakroom with WC and washbasin. Cleaning/towels/Linen: Towels and bed linen are included in the price and changed weekly. The cottage is cleaned prior to your arrival, however we ask our guests to leave the cottage in a similar clean and tidy condition. Notes on Prices Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds, minimum 3 nights. Please enquire about short breaks available in low season. Prices from £125. Rental periods is Saturday to Saturday. The cottage is available from 3pm and must be vacated by 10am.
Further Details The cottage is an excellent base for walking, fishing, canoeing, horse riding and visiting antique and other individual shops in Barnard Castle. The town also has a large supermarket, sports centre, golf course, banks, restaurants and take-aways. The next village up the dale, Cotherstone (1.5 miles) boasts an excellent pub serving good food and ale.
Close by there is the world famous Bowes Museum, High Force waterfall, Raby Castle and the ruins of Egglestone Abbey. Within 1 hour's drive you can visit the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Durham City, York, Hadrians Wall and Beamish Open Air Museum.
