Walker's Cottage is a rural retreat with all the modern conveniences. It is set in the heart of a tiny village deep in Lincolnshire, a village complete with an award-winning local shop and post office, a blacksmith's shop, a wealth of historic buildings and a Norman castle site.
Walker's Cottage offers high quality, three bedroom accommodation for up to five people, with a separate living room, dining room and kitchen. Dedicated parking and a private walled garden are particular features.
"The White Horse" public house was an important feature of village life in Welbourn for many years before being converted to private dwellings, of which Walker's Cottage is one. It retains the character of a former pub, with a local stone fireplace and a working range in the kitchen, whilst offering the convenience of sympathetic modernisation: - Full central heating,
- Large family bathroom with separate electric shower and,
- A fully fitted, solid wood kitchen with all the modern appliances (electric cooker, larder-size fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher etc.).
Welbourn is ideally placed for access to the heart of England, located as it is between the market towns of Newark, Sleaford, Grantham and the city of Lincoln. In 20 minutes you can eat in some of the finest restaurants in the country, investigate a medieaval Cathedral, and see the original Magna Carta - amongst many other things.
The immediate area offers many regular events from air shows to antique fairs, and is the perfect launching pad for a walking or cycling holiday.
Proprietors Tim and Annie Walker are happy to work to accommodate any special needs, and can supply baby equipment and organic vegetables by prior arrangement.
