Twenty Queen Street is a beautiful Georgian townhouse luxuriously renovated in contemporary style, situated in the historic market town of Ulverston in South Lakeland. Fantastic countryside only a short drive away, both lakes Windermere and Coniston nearby, it is an ideal base for either an active outdoor holiday or a relaxing break.

Accommodation
  • The house sleeps five, covering four floors and comprises two sitting rooms, kitchen and conservatory, sauna, three bedrooms, bathroom, and a small courtyard.
  • The salon is on the first floor, and is the focal point of the house, a spacious stylish room containing antiques and a fire.
  • The ground floor sitting room has a widescreen TV and a huge sofa, this room also doubles as the library offering a wealth of information about Ulverston and the Lake District. Opposite this room is:
  • Kitchen, fully equipped to the highest standard, and seating for six people around the dining table from where you can overlook the small courtyard.
  • The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors, two doubles and a single. All rooms have goose and down feather duvets and fine Egyptian cotton bed linen. A fold-down bed and cot are available if required.
  • The ultra-modern bathroom and separate rain shower are also at the top of the house.
  • Down in the cellar you can releive aching limbs in the sauna and second shower.
  • We provide a breakfast welcome hamper containing local specialties, as well as the famous Cartmel sticky toffee pudding and champagne. Bed linen, towels, bathrobes are all provided.

Location

  • Ulverston is a bustling South Lakeland market town, with cobbled streets and ginnels, which nestles between the mountains of the Lake District and the waters of Morecambe Bay. A festival town, with a varied calendar of cultural events, twice weekly markets, and the start of the Cumbria Way long distance walk to Carlisle, it is also the birthplace of comedian Stan Laurel.
  • The Lake District National Park is the largest in the UK, with twelve lakes and the highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Lakes Windermere and Coniston are closest where sailing, steamers, motor boating, swimming or gentle walking are all possible.
  • For more challenging walking, the Old Man of Coniston (2276 feet) provides wonderful views of both these lakes and the Langdale Pikes and Scafell range.
