Listed by Historic Scotland as a building of architectural and historic interest, the Turret House offers you a fabulous opportunity for self-catering rental accommodation in a holiday cottage of tremendous character and history.

The Turret House, reputedly the oldest house in Kelso, can trace its history back to 1678 when John Palmer, a Tweed River boatman celebrated his marriage by carving his initials into the lintel above what was then the front door. Since then the Turret House has seen many changes, including the addition of the circular stone stairway from which it gets its name.

Refurbished by the National Trust, the Turret House today offers stylish and comfortable self-catering accommodation whilst retaining all the character and quirky angles you'd expect in a house of this age and historical importance.
The self-catering rental accommodation is on three floors and is centrally heated throughout.
There is a small, pleasant courtyard garden to the rear of the house.
Unrestricted parking is available in Abbey Court.

The Turret House is situated in Abbey Court, a quiet and pretty no-through street. Partially cobbled, a short path leads down to the banks of the River Tweed where you can watch fisherman cast for salmon on the world famous Junction Pool. Even if the fish aren't biting you can always catch a glorious view of Floors Castle from this spot.

To the front, the Turret House overlooks St Andrews Church whilst from the rear upstairs windows you can see the 12th century ruins of Kelso Abbey tucked in behind a magnificent horse chestnut tree. Kelso's picturesque cobbled main Square, with its wide variety of shops and eating places, is a very short walk from here. You will find the Kelso Tourist Office on the ground floor of the Town Hall.
