Trough Cottage is a delightful, unspoiled self catering country cottage peacefully located within the old hamlet of Hulland Village. The cottage sleeps four and also provides a fold up bed for any extra guest. The cottage consists of a sittingroom with electric flame fire, a TV, video, DVD player and radio/CD. The beamed dining room has an open fire for pleasant meals dining with friends or family. Off the dining room is a storage room with an automatic washer/dryer. Bathroom with washbasin, bath and toilet. The well equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, electric cooker, microwave, and oversink water heater. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, and a shower room with an electric shower, wash basin, and second wc. All beds have duvets, and all linen is provided. Woollen blankets are also available. Guests are asked to provide their own towels and tea towels please. All the accommodation is heated by 'off peak' economy 7 storage radiators. Heating, immersion water heating and electricity are included. Logs and coal used to be replaced by hirer as required. There are wonderful views to the south and attractive gardens to the front and rear of the cottage. Garden furniture is provided for your relaxation. This cottage may not be suitable for young children. Sorry we are No Smoking and No Pets. Location - This attractive cottage is located 5 miles from the old market town of Ashbourne. A visit to the many antique shops and historic parish church is a must.
- Carsington Water is 3 miles from the cottage and here you can hire a cycle or canoe and enjoy the many water activities. This water sports centre has lovely walks and birdwatching around its perimeter with beautiful views of the water and surrounding scenery.
- Dovedale, Tissington, Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton etc. are just a short drive away.
- This area abounds with historic buildings, the magnificent Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Sudbury Hall, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Eyam Halls are close by.
- The cottage is central for all the many attractions that Derbyshire has to offer such as Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham, Blue John Caverns at Castleton and Mining Museum at Matlock Bath, Tramway Museum at Crich, Midland Railway at Ripley and various Industrial museums along the Heritage Trail.
- A wonderful centre for walkers, with the opportunity to walk the many picturesque Derbyshire Dales or explore the famous Peak District National Park with its magnificent heather covered moorlands.
- Golfing, fishing, cycling, canoeing, climbing, caving, pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, archery, Virgin hot air balloon flights (from Bakewell.)
50% deposit required within one week of booking. Final payment one month before holiday date, or sooner. On receipt, acceptance will be sent, together with information and directions.
