Tomain Cottage is located in Stow, a small village set amidst the rolling Lammermuir Hills and lying just off the A7 Historic Borders Route, 25 miles south of Edinburgh. To the east Lauder ofers good pubs, a hotel and popular cafe/gallery. Nearby Galashiels has a range of larger shops and facilities.

Tomain Cottage is a charming traditional stone built cottage set at the bottom of a well maintained garden with an outdoor patio area.
  • Comfortably appointed and furnished to a high standard, the ground floor offers a lounge/diner with open solid fuel fire and a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer.
  • Upstairs is a modern bathroom, a spacious master bedroom and a cosy and comfortable single.
  • We provide bed linen, towels, coal and an initial supply of logs.
  • The village Post Office and General Store is just a short walk away.
With the Border Abbey sites of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh and the lovely towns of Selkirk and Peebles all within easy reach, access to the Southern Upland and St. Cuthbert Way's and a regular bus service to Edinburgh, Tomain Cottage is the perfect base for getting to know and enjoy both the beautiful Scottish Borders and Scotland's Capital City.

With sufficient notice we are happy to arrange tickets for guests to local sporting events such as the world famous Melrose Rugby Sevens (April), International Horse Trials at Floors and Thirlestane Castles (July/August) or a great day out at Kelso Racecourse.

August (3rd - 25th) is time for Edinburgh's acclaimed Military Tattoo and Festival, while December marks the start of the Border's seasonal celebrations, culminating in the appearance of Stow's Pipe Band to signal the start of the village's Hogmanay Celebrations.
