The annexe at Tilton House is a two/ three bedroom self contained, self catering wing of Tilton House, the historic former country home of Economist, and member of the Bloomsbury Group John Maynard Keynes and his wife Russian ballerina, Lydia Lopokova.

Accommodation
  • The Annexe has been tastefully furnished to include an elegant kitchen with table seating for 6, a sitting room with two large sofas, Sky TV and a library of DVD's.
  • The bathroom has under-floor heating and a spa bath and shower.
  • The bedrooms have views that either look out across fields to the Sussex Weald, or up over the Downs.

  • There is also B&B available in the Main House.
  • Complimentary veg box from kitchen gardens (photo above).
We offer the opportunity to cherry pick from a pool of local practitioners that give treatments of Thai Yoga Massage, shiatsu, meditation etc. or play tennis on the court here or sit around the fire-pit spinning yarns and stargazing.

Location
  • You can walk across a network of flint tracks to the South Downs Way and up on to Firle Beacon, which has expansive views over the Sea. Or take the 5 minute walk along the track to Charleston Farmhouse; home to the Bloomsbury group and open to the public.
  • 1 hour from London, 20 mins from Brighton and 10 mins from the pretty market town of Lewes. Glyndebourne is only an 8 min drive away.
  • Beaches are only a 15 min away and the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry for a daytrip to France is only 10 mins.
  • There is an abundance of events to choose from in the area; from paragliding the Downs to visiting the local Gardens, such as Great Dixter, Nymans and Sheffield Park.
