Dating back to circa 1880, this croft house has been modernised to present day standards, but still reflects wonderful character and charm. Although situated only 7 miles from the town of Portree, the cottage is within the small crofting community of Eyre, overlooking the magnificent Cuillin mountains and the beautiful Loch Snizort. - The house has a number of unique features - the gallery, the interior decoration and pine furnishings, which we believe sets Cnoc na Gaoithe in a class of its own.

The Isle of Skye offers ancient heritage and a natural environment inhabited by birds of prey, deer, wild goat and highland cattle. History, beauty and wildlife abound, and you may have the opportunity to witness otters, seals and porpoises in their natural environment.
The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity that works to alleviate the suffering of animals in a captive environment. Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, founders of the charity, and also stars of the film Ring of Bright Water had close connections to Gavin Maxwell, author of the book, who lived in Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye. This cottage was donated to our charity to raise funds to continue with our work to Keep Wildlife in the Wild. Cnoc Na Gaoithe makes the perfect retreat at the end of the day.
