 The Thatched Croft is situated in the small crofting community of Gartymore, on the North East coast of Sutherland. It has spectacular views overlooking the Moray Firth and surrounding hills. It is possible to fill your days with things to do; but just as easy to curl up with a good book, a glass of wine and unwind totally. - There is excellent salmon fishing locally, on the river Helmsdale, as well as brown trout on several lochs nearby.
- There are several golf courses in the area, a large sandy beach within easy reach and plenty of open countryside to explore.
- There is a wealth of archaeology and easy access to the north coast, Orkney isles and the capital of the highlands.
 - Helmsdale village, 2 miles away, provides a selection of small shops, 3 restaurants, a pub, library, Timespan heritage centre, cash point, bank and post office.
- The closest town is Wick, 40 miles north.

This B-listed, thatched croft is newly renovated, an extension has been added and the barn converted to provide a spacious two bedroom cottage. Some of the original features have been replicated, from the hand made sash windows to the wood clad walls and ceilings, and the croft has wooden floors throughout. - Well equipped kitchen with range style cooker, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
- Cosy sitting room with TV, DVD, freeview, stereo, woodburning stove and double sofa bed.
 - Spacious double bedroom in the converted barn.
