• You can explore the outstandingly lovely scenery and store memories of dramatic landscapes to take back home; walk the fine shell beaches while watching seals, possibly otters, and a myriad of seabirds; fish in a nearby loch; take sea fishing trips from Gairloch; or a tourist trip to the Summer Isles, or make a short visit to Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides by boat from Ullapool.
• Other memorable places to visit are the Gairloch Heritage Centre as well as local arts and crafts, the breathtaking Corrieshalloch Gorge (32 miles) and the famous Inverewe Gardens (10 miles).
• Various other activities include pony trekking, golf and Leisure Centre (Gairloch) and swimming (Poolewe).
