THE RENNIE MACK RETREAT
The Rennie Mack Retreat is a wonderful, comfortable apartment, the perfect escape for couples or small families wishing to recharge their batteries. Designed by the renowned Scottish artist, designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackinstosh at the turn of the 20th Century, it forms part of a building of National Historic Importance. The apartment, spread over 2 floors, combines original Mackintosh features with modern luxury. It is situated in the beautiful small Perthshire town of Comrie, an ideal centre for walking, cycling, golf, fishing and exploring.
The apartment is located less than one minute walk away from the picturesque River Earn and its picnic areas. Owned and managed locally, every effort is made to make your stay a memorable one. Comrie is situated at the meeting place of 2 great Scottish glens; Glen Lednock and Glen Artney, both offering superb walking, cycling and fishing opportunities. Glen Lednock, with its beautiful broadleaf forest and the famous Devil's Cauldron gorge, can be reached by foot from the apartment. Both glens are home to several red kites and other birds of prey as well as countless deer. Comrie and the surrounding area is also the residential place of choice for some of the worldís royalty and nobility.
If you want to explore further afield, it is an excellent touring base from which to see many of the other famous Scottish sites (Glencoe, St. Andrews, the Trossachs, Loch Lomond) plus it is only just over an hour away from the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. Comrie has its own golf course, plus there are a dozen or so courses located within an hour's drive, including the famous Gleneagles. Although there is no garden, there are numerous woodland and riverside walks/strolls from the doorstep.
