The Linhay at Lower Chilverton is a converted thatched 18th century barn comfortably sleeping 4 situated within the grounds of Lower Chilverton Farm - an ideal base for relaxing, walking, visiting local villages, enjoying local produce and the Devon Heartland. It is ideally situated, being close to Dartmoor, within easy reach of Exmoor and both the north and south Devon coasts. There is swimming, golf, fishing and several National Trust properties nearby plus 2 mountain bikes for guest use. Both Oakhampton and the city of Exeter are short drives away.

Lower Chilverton is a haven for people and wildlife alike; it is common to see buzzards, owls, deer, woodpeckers, foxes and badgers. The surrounding area is quiet with hardly any passing traffic other than tractors and the postman.

Accommodation
The Linhay was converted in 2005/6 and is finished to an extremely high standard. The charming rooms have retained the original character of the barn yet are presented to offer an ultra modern feel. The vaulted ceiling in the upstairs living accommodation includes many of the original 17th century beams.

The accommodation is split level and glass fronted with open plan living accommodation, offering good views of the local scenery and wildlife from the upstairs kitchen and living room.
There are modern storage radiators with supplementary gas log fire for chilly nights.
Bed linen, towels and electricity are all included.
There are 2 double/twin bedrooms with electric panel radiators and a modern, well-equipped bathroom downstairs.

Double room with kingsize bed, built-in wardrobe overlooking a patio and views out towards the fields and fishponds.
Bedroom 2 (large double or twin room Ground Floor).
Large bed or twin room. The room overlooks the fields and ponds.
Bathroom (Ground Floor).
Modern bathroom with bath, over bath power shower, WC and heated floor.
40' Open Plan kitchen, Dining area and Lounge (1st Floor).
Living accommodation is on the first floor and is completely glass fronted to take advantage of views over the local countryside, the wildlife and is at the same level as the barn owl when he passes.
Large kitchen and dining area with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
Washing machine and tumble drier.
Lounge with Freeview TV, DVD, Video, stereo system, selection of books and films and sofa bed.
WiFi.

The Patio and Garden

There is a patio immediately outside the property with table, chairs and a gas BBQ.
The Linhay is surrounded by a garden with ponds and there is ample room to wander or just sit and look for fish and dragonflies.
There is plenty of secure parking in front of the Linhay.
