Welcome to our holiday cottage in the pleasantly pastoral West Sussex countryside, just 10 miles south of London's international Gatwick Airport. We live in a medieval Wealden hall house and the adjoining property is our self-contained two-bedroom holiday cottage, recently adapted from 18th and 19th century farm buildings. We have retained many of the original features and timbers, giving the cottage a rustic feel.

• Bedroom one - large double bed, en suite bathroom and toilet, washing machine.
• Bedroom two - two large single beds, en suite shower/wet room and toilet.
• Sitting room with countryside views, wood burning stove, CD/MP3 player with digital radio.
• Kitchen/breakfast-dining room - a fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery and an array of utensils, large electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, dining table seating four.
• Glazed patio area with seating.
• Outside there are two acres of grounds, wildlife pond, orchard and a number of seating areas, parking for two cars.

Location  

• The cottage is on the outskirts of the small village of Cowfold which has two pubs serving food, an Indian restaurant, a post office and a small Co-op store. At the centre of the village is the 12th century church of St Peter.
• Nearby are the well-known gardens of Leonardslee, Borde Hill, Nymans and Wakehurst Place.
• The Sussex Downs just to the south of us offer walking, cycling and riding, and the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove is about 25 minutes drive away.

The cottage can be rented for £500 per week or £100 a night for a minimum of three nights. The price includes electricity, heating and hot water, logs, 100% cotton bedding and towels.
