Welcome to the Hirsel on Skye, in the picturesque village of Ord, on the north shore of Sleat, 'perfectly Skye'. The cottage is adjacent to the family home of the owners, Rob and Eileen, far from the madding crowd, enjoying all that Skye has to offer. The spring and late autumn seasons are becoming a popular time to visit the island, recently voted by Conde Naste as Europe's 8th best island, and the only one in the UK. The Hirsel is at the heart of some of the very finest scenery in the UK, just some 20 miles from the Skye Bridge, 2 hours from Inverness by road and just 5 hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Whether you are looking for peace and quiet, in wonderful surroundings, or a family holiday with a difference, there is always something to see and do in Skye. The island offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the UK, and in Ord itself we often see otters, dolphins, seals and occasionally whales. The magnificent sea-eagles and golden eagles can be seen in the skies above the village, so keep your eyes on the water, and in the sky.
