Amisfield is a small village with the nearest pub the Ae Inn some two miles away. There are local golf courses, fishing areas and lots of country walks. Dumfries, a large town full of history is situated 3 miles to the South West where there are swimming and leisure facilities with full local amenities, lots of restaurants, take aways and plenty of activities for the young and old alike. Such as Ice Skating, Theatre and Cinema.

South West Scotland is particularly blessed with a number of sandy beaches, fishing villages and an abundance of castles, abbeys, churches and other interesting buildings to visit - Sweetheart Abbey being some 10 miles away. For those wanting to travel further a field, Glasgow and Edinburgh are 70 miles away and the lake District is 40 miles away.

Ideal location for mountain biking well in the middle of the Southwest Scotland Mountain biking scene with a forest 3 miles away and right in the middle of the Seven Stanes.

Motorcyclists welcome to us as a base for tours of Scotland with easy access into the Lake District.
