The Dannyman's Cottage is a home away from home. This completely refurbished shepherds cottage comes with stone built fireplace, wood burning stove and a balcony with beautiful views of the Blackstairs Mountains. The cottage is ideal for walkers and hikers, as local and national way-marked routes pass close by.
 
 Location - Rathanna is an excellent spot to base yourself in the South East as most amenities are within half an hours drive away, including the historic Kilkenny City.
- Trips to the beaches of Co. Wexford can be made quite easily.
- Rathanna is located close to Borris, Co. Carlow, in the 'Sunny South East' of Ireland. The village itself and surrounding countryside has remained remarkably untouched by modern development. It is a small village and has a local pub within 5 minutes walk.
- The landscape is of small fields bordered by stone walls.
- A daytrip to Kilkenny City is a 'must', with the magnificent Kilkenny Castle, fantastic shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
- The cities of Wexford and Waterford also make good day trips with historic links to their Viking pasts.
- There are numerous beaches in Wexford and excellent hiking and trails throughout the South East for all abilities.
- Borris is the nearest town (10 mins drive), it has all amenities guests require; Grocery shops, pubs, restaurants and hotel. It is a beautiful and historic town with walking, fishing and boating available on the nearby Barrow River. There is an excellent golf course in the town and guests are most welcome.
- The neighbouring towns of Inistioge and medieval Graiguenamanagh also on the Barrow are famous in Ireland for their natural beauty.
- Within 20 minutes drive is Enniscorthy town with access to restaurants, cinema and leisure centre.
