The Dannyman's Cottage is a home away from home. This completely refurbished shepherds cottage comes with stone built fireplace, wood burning stove and a balcony with beautiful views of the Blackstairs Mountains. The cottage is ideal for walkers and hikers, as local and national way-marked routes pass close by.

Location

Rathanna is an excellent spot to base yourself in the South East as most amenities are within half an hours drive away, including the historic Kilkenny City.
Trips to the beaches of Co. Wexford can be made quite easily.
Rathanna is located close to Borris, Co. Carlow, in the 'Sunny South East' of Ireland. The village itself and surrounding countryside has remained remarkably untouched by modern development. It is a small village and has a local pub within 5 minutes walk.
The landscape is of small fields bordered by stone walls.
A daytrip to Kilkenny City is a 'must', with the magnificent Kilkenny Castle, fantastic shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
The cities of Wexford and Waterford also make good day trips with historic links to their Viking pasts.
There are numerous beaches in Wexford and excellent hiking and trails throughout the South East for all abilities.
Borris is the nearest town (10 mins drive), it has all amenities guests require; Grocery shops, pubs, restaurants and hotel. It is a beautiful and historic town with walking, fishing and boating available on the nearby Barrow River. There is an excellent golf course in the town and guests are most welcome.
The neighbouring towns of Inistioge and medieval Graiguenamanagh also on the Barrow are famous in Ireland for their natural beauty.
Within 20 minutes drive is Enniscorthy town with access to restaurants, cinema and leisure centre.
