Traditional-style detached cottage located in the quiet village of Melvaig, near Gairloch. Situated approx. 300 yards from the seashore and overlooking the sea with views over Skye, Harris and Lewis. The Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and the Torridon mountains are just a short distance away. Explore the rugged coastline with its coves, caves and secluded beaches, a haven for nesting birds, and whales, dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks and other marine life. Spacious decking area in front of the cottage where you can relax and watch the sun go down over the islands.
Accommodation Comfortably furnished and well-appointed cottage, accommodates up to 4. Entrance porch leading to hall. One double and one twin bedroom. Downstairs bathroom with over bath shower. Cosy lounge with dining area. Colour TV, DVD, video, and radio/cassette/CD player. Fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. Large enclosed garden. Parking is at the side of the house. Melvaig has a cafe bar/restaurant open 5 days and evenings. Slipway for boat launching. The area's attractions include whale-watching and marine trips, visits to the puffin colonies on the Shiant islands, salmon, sea trout, brown trout, pike and sea fishing: bird-watching, falconry courses, golf course and pony trekking. Also boat trips on Loch Maree to view Viking graves, bike hire, deer stalking and deer museum, guided hill walks, guided climbing and sea-kayaking trips, plus the world famous Inverewe Gardens, to name but a few. Shops, Post office, garage and other services approx. 20 mins away.
