The Beacon is a large stone built house about 100 years old, and it is situated on the coastline with magnificent sea views from all the main rooms. It is just a short walk from the harbour (photo below) and offers excellent opportunities for bird watching, walking, touring, sea angling, sub aqua diving or relaxing on the beach.

Ground Floor accommodation: Tiled entrance porch. Lounge with bay windows and TV. Dining room with open fire and TV. Breakfast room. Fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave and electric cooker. Large utility room with freezer and washing machine. Telephone for emergency and incoming calls only. First Floor: Two double bedrooms. One twin bedroom. One single bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath, also WC. Separate WC and hand basin.  Facilities: Central heating throughout. There are also coal and electric fires. Garden: Enclosed garden with private parking. Outside WC. Location: St.Abbs is a picturesque fishing village which offers an ideal retreat from modern living. The coastline is rugged with sandy coves, the nearest being Coldingham Sands which can be reached by a pleasant coastal path in just a few minutes.
In the summer season daily boat trips are available to view the large colony of seabirds on St.Abbs Head, which is a National Trust nature reserve. The nature reserve can also be reached by a cliff top path, which provides excellent views over the Berwickshire coast, north to Fife and south to Northumbria. The harbour is also popular with sea anglers and sub aqua divers. - There is a shop/post office in the village and an interesting museum.

Places to visit: Local: Eyemouth and Berwick. To the North: Dunbar, North Berwick and Edinburgh (1 hour). To the South: Holy Island, Bamburgh, Alnwick. The beautiful Borders with stately homes and castles is an easy drive away.
