Set in the midst of a farming community in a conservation area and AONB in the stunning South Shropshire countryside, The Barns offers a temporary respite from the stress of modern living. Converted and extended from former cow sheds, the Barns is a two minute walk from the village pub (restricted opening hours), and only 4 miles from Bishop's Castle with its range of interesting shops, pubs (two with their own breweries) and places to eat.
Your hosts David and Gail James retired to South Shropshire in 2006 and will offer you a welcome drink on your first evening to allow you to discuss the attractions in the area and your plans for the week. - The area is especially attractive to walkers (drop off and pick up service offered), cyclists and ornithologists and the Shropshire Way can be accessed from the end of the drive.
- There are also opportunities for hang-gliding and gliding from the nearby Long Mynd.
- When the sun goes down on clear nights the lack of ambient light reveals a stunning array of stars which can be viewed using the house astronomical telescope.
- A range of tourist information and maps, as well as games and books are available.
