Directions to the cottage:
About three miles south of Portree (coming from Broadford) take a right turn signed 'Braes' and after a quarter mile right again, still to Braes. After a mile and a half left turn to Camustianavaig, down the hill to a phone box and turn right; down the brae to the bay's edge. About 200yards past the picnic table, at a metal gate by a post-box turn up the track to the cottage. Please be sure to close the 2 metal gates behind you (sheep!).
'The Bard' is Calum Ruadh (Nicholson), a writer of Gaelic song and poetry, who lived in the cottage. The School of Scottish Studies , University of Edinburgh, has produced a CD of his speaking, reading and singing: CDTRAX9007.
The cottage is also known, to some, as "Creggan Cottage".
We ask that guests arrive after 3pm on their first day at the cottage and vacate the cottage by 11am on the final day in order to allow time for cleaning and changeover.
