Set on the hillside just two miles from Reeth in beautiful Swaledale, Tetheran Cottage is the end one of three converted from an old stone barn, lying tucked away at the end of a quiet country lane in a corner of the tiny hamlet of Marrick. This cosy cottage stands very close to the coast-to-coast footpath, and five minutes walk from the 'Nuns' Causey' or Causeway - over three hundred, centuries-old, stone steps which lead down to Marrick Priory, now a residential centre, through a wild-flower filled wood. - Wonderful views are to be seen through the picture windows, across the heather-clad, sheep-dotted hills rising from the other bank of the Swale. All the other windows provide lovely views of Swaledale.
- Reeth provides the day-to-day shopping, excellent bar meals, tourist information and visitor centres, and is the base for a marvellous two-week music festival which starts every Spring Bank Holiday.
- Richmond with its Norman Castle and Keep, gardens, markets etc. is only six miles away.
- Many countryside pursuits are available locally, and of course, this is excellent walking country.
Tetheran Cottage has: Three bedrooms - one double, one twin (2'6" beds) and one single. In the bathroom you'll find a bath, basin and WC. On the ground floor is a dining kitchen, hall and sitting-room. Low beams and an open fireplace help retain a rustic feel and the comfortable furnishings provide a cosy atmosphere. Outdoors there is a small garden, a larger grassed area, garden furniture, a barbecue and parking for two cars. The price includes electricity, solid fuels, bed-linen and towels.
