Accommodation Built against a south-facing hillside, the barn takes an 'upside-down' layout and features a large, galleried living room on the upper floor, with wood-burning stove; adjoining dining area; french doors leading to a decked patio with garden furniture, and the grassed garden area; a spacious kitchen with breakfast bar, and fully fitted appliances; a small inner hall leading to a double bedroom with adjacent shower room; 3 further bedrooms on the lower floor: a double (with en-suite shower room), two twin bedrooms, and family bathroom with over-bath shower. Facilities - Oil-fired central heating,
- Electric cooker, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer,
- TV with DVD and video, stereo digital radio / CD, books, maps and games for use of visitors.
- One basket of logs for wood-burning stove included.
- Cot and highchair provided.
- Bed linen (duvets) & towels included.

The area Swallow Barn is close to the picturesque market towns of Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale. Windermere, at the heart of the southern lakes, is within 30 minutes by car. There are walks around the area and many places of interest such as Arnside with its tidal estuary and walk across Morecambe Bay sands, and Leighton Moss Nature Reserve. Ingleton with its caves and waterfalls is nearby, as are the famous "Three Peaks" of Ingleborough, Pen y Ghent and Whernside. The Lancaster Canal is close by where barge rides can sometimes be taken, and the towpath can be followed to Kendal.
