Staithes offers the perfect base for a short break or longer holiday on the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors coast with easy access to the heart of the National Park area and Cleveland Way. The old part of the village dates back to the 18th century with traditional houses and cobbled streets, but remains a vibrant community with local facilities to service the needs of visitors. If you want to travel further a field the beautiful medieval city of York is within a 90 minute drive.
Stonegarth is a delightful and traditional cottage in the heart of old Staithes. It is a much loved second home and has recently been updated whilst retaining a wealth of original features. This is a great family property and is ideal for entertaining with cosy lounge area and large, separate kitchen/diner. The property is set in a quiet location just off the High Street and is a short walk to the local shops, pubs and restaurants. The cottage has central heating powered by a log burning stove and all rooms have the benefit of both radiators and storage heaters for permanent background heat (NB the second bedroom has storage heating only). This is the perfect retreat for holidays at all times of the year!
 Ground Floor - Lounge and Large Kitchen/Diner
The lounge is a cosy room set at the front of the property and has original beams and exposed stonework. There is a TV/DVD player and portable CD/radio. There is a log burning stove, which also powers the central heating. Steps lead up from the lounge in to a hallway, where there is a separate WC and access to the rear of the property. Further steps lead up to the large kitchen/diner. This is a large room with modern units and appliances, including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, oven/hob/extractor and portable TV. There is a large farmhouse style table with seating for 6 people.
First Floor - Double Bedroom and Bathroom
The spacious double bedroom is light and airy and has a window to the front of the property, original beams and stripped floor boards. The good sized bathroom has full sized bath with electric shower over, toilet and sink.
 Second Floor - Attic Bedroom
This is a great attic bedroom with 3 single beds. The property has stripped floorboards and benefits from panoramic views across the rooftops towards Cowbar Nab.
General Details: - Stonegarth is situated just off the main High Street where short term parking is available for unloading. Long term parking (charges apply March to October) is available 5 minutes walk from the property - ask for full details.
- The property is a cosy winter retreat with log burning stove (we will provide an initial supply of logs) which powers the central heating and plus back up heat from storage heaters in all rooms.
- Bedding and towels are provided and all bills are included in the rental price.
- A travel cot suitable for infants up to 2 years of age and high chair can be arranged, subject to availability.
- One dog is welcome at the cottage at an additional charge of 15. Your pet must be kept on the ground floor and not be left alone at any time.
- Non-smoking property.
- The property has steep staircases and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
