An amazing 12th century former chapel, converted 2004, in the outer bailey of the Norman castle (key to inner bailey will be provided). Huge gallery hall (40' x 20' x 25' high). A new extension contains large kitchen/living room, bathroom and separate shower-room, both with WCs. Oil-fired underfloor central heating. The owners live about 30 yards away. The chapel is also very suitable for (quiet!) parties of up to about 80 people. Heating and electricity are included. There are twin beds in the gallery and two double sofa beds downstairs. Bed linen can be provided if required for a small extra charge. New Buckenham is a compact, pretty conservation village, steeped in history. Village shop and butcher within 5 minutes walk. The chapel is not far from the main road through the village, so there is some traffic noise, but not intrusive.
Thetford Forest (Grimes Graves, acres of woods), Banham Zoo, Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, medieval churches galore, all near-by. Also, within easy driving distance, are Norfolk and Suffolk coasts, wild-life conservation areas, the Broads, Cambridge, Norwich, etc.
