Stable Cottage offers a well-equipped country getaway that is ideal for both couples and families. Located in the pretty village of West Meon, it is a short walk away from the village shop (which now has an internet cafe); butchers (award winning Harriotts); and The Thomas Lord pub, Hampshire's Dining Pub of the Year 2008.

The busy market town of Petersfield is six miles away and the beautiful Cathedral City of Winchester 12 miles. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible with the picturesque Iron Age fort at Old Winchester Hill, with its stunning views over southern Hampshire, only a five minute drive away.

For walkers, the start of the Meon Valley Trail (which runs from West Meon to Wickham and follows the route of the old railway line) is only a few hundred yards from our door. The route of the famous Wayfarers Walk is about 3 miles away at its closest point.

The accommodation is set over two floors:  

• The ground floor has a sunny well equipped kitchen/breakfast room that opens out onto a small private garden area with seating, this leads through to a ground floor bedroom (with bed that converts into two singles or a double) with ample wardrobe space.
• There is a large spacious sitting room with a comfortable corner sofa and the log-burning stove. This room also opens out into a relaxing double aspect sitting/reading area with views out to the garden.
• The shower room/lavatory is also on the ground floor.
• The first floor bedroom features a king sized bed and has exposed beams and windows to the front and back with views over open countryside.
• There is parking for two cars at the Cottage and dogs are welcome.
• The Cottage comes equipped with oil fired central heating and log burning stove (logs provided), TV and Freeview, DVD player, microwave, cooker and freezer.
• We also provide towels and organic cotton sheets.
