Originally the stables of Cairnsmore Estate, Stable Cottage is a 150 year old, traditional, whitewashed stone building located with in a courtyard, you immediately get that 'away from it all' feeling.  

• As you enter Stable Cottage, the hallway offers a storage area for boots and coats and on your right is the bright and cosy kitchen diner, which is fully equipped and houses a super wood-burning stove. There is a traditional pulley on which to warm and dry your clothes.
• Beyond the kitchen is the bright and light lounge which houses an open fire, with logs and two comfortable sofas. For your pleasure are also a TV, CD player, games and books.
• There are two bedrooms in Stable Cottage - the master bedroom overlooks the back garden where elusive red squirrels can often be spotted. The second bedroom has two comfortable, single beds and also overlooks the back garden area.
• The  bathroom has a bath, shower, sink and toilet.
• In the privacy of the sunny, sheltered, south facing back garden you can enjoy the use of a paved patio area with barbecue, picnic table and garden furniture.

Location  

• This area is a walker's paradise and the length and strenuousness of your walk can be chosen to suit your mood from the Five Fingers, Cairnsmore Hill, Glentrool, and Galloway Forest Park.
• For the discerning cyclist - every level of competence can be enjoyed on the renowned 7 Stanes cycle ways. Also there is the National Cycle route which runs by the Cairnsmore Estate.
• There is so much to do and see in Dumfries & Galloway, we boast more red squirrels than anywhere else in Britain and some of the darkest skies in Europe for amazing star gazing - so go on, visit Scotland's best kept secret!!
