St Ebba's Cottage is a Grade 2 listed building which was originally 2 cottages (approx 400 years old) joined into one with a large extension added to the rear. It is often described as a "Tardis", as it is much larger than it looks from the front. It is a very spacious, well maintained and comfortable cottage, full of character and charm and retains many original features. It is warm and cosy and is an ideal base for summer and winter holidays alike. All of the bedrooms have recently been redecorated and carpets renewed. St Ebba's provides excellent accommodation for a larger family or a small group of friends wishing to holiday together. Local produce can also be bought from the Post Office on the sea front.. There is also a very popular local take away fish and chip shop. The bus stops give easy access to trips further a field for those who do not wish to drive. All these facilities are less than 2 minutes walk from St Ebba's. Boat launching is available in the beachside car park - subject to opening.

Out and About
  • The coastline of North Northumberland is well known for its sandy beaches and superb scenery along with its picturesque villages overlooked by magnificent castles.
  • The historic village of Beadnell lies just a few miles east of the main A1 that links Edinburgh with Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but despite this, it remains off the beaten track and as a result has not been spoilt by over-development.
  • Just off this stretch of coastline, lie the Farne Islands. Well known by SCUBA divers and naturalists alike, these islands are host to a diverse cross section of marine life and coastal species. Boat trips to the Farnes can be arranged from Seahouses, 2 miles north of Beadnell.
  • There are interesting market towns in the region. Alnwick with its majestic castle, famous gardens and weekly market is only 12 miles away. Morpeth and Berwick both a scenic 25 mile drive.
  • A visit to the region would not be complete without a visit to Holy Island. (Tide times can be checked at Seahouses).
  • Young or old, walker, bird-watcher, golfer or sandcastle builder the area has something for everyone.
