This detached comfortable cottage is located in the village of Carishader in the scenic area of Uig on the west coast of Lewis. The cottage has stunning sea views over Loch Roag. Uig is an area of outstanding natural beauty, which offers much to see and do for those looking for a quiet retreat or for those who have a love of the great outdoors.

Within the immediate vicinity there are numerous unspoilt beaches which run for miles and a number of climbable mountains for the keen hillwalker.
For the bird watcher, there are many varieties of sea and moor birds.
Fishing is also plentiful and the majority of freshwater lochs on the island can be fished with no permit.
If you have an interest in sea kayaking the sea runs right to the edge of the property or you can launch from the nearby Miavaig pier. From this point regular sea trips for nature watchers take place throughout the summer months to a variety of locations including Taransy (location of BBC series) and the Flannan Isles. Loch Roag itself is a sea loch offering miles of scope for exploring before hitting the open sea.
For the historian, the Viking Chessmen were discovered nearby and the Callanish Standing Stones are a short drive away.
For the more adventurous, a kite surfing school is located closeby.
A well-stocked local co-operative is a short drive away together with a petrol station, post office and restaurant.
