Soillerie, a Gaelic name meaning 'House of Light and Learning', is a traditional stone-built former farmhouse in the Cairngorm National Park, with views across Insh Marshes Bird reserve to the Monadhliath mountains. The house lies back from the B970 road, and is approached by a private driveway. Walks and cycle rides may be started from the property into the nearby forests, moorland and hills. The area is rich in animal wildlife, particularly red squirrels, deer, hares, and pine martens, and provides great opportunities for all-the-year-round bird-watching.

The house has been modernised and is very tastefully furnished, with a large number of books, games and videos. It has central heating and double glazing throughout, two open fireplaces, two walk-in showers, and a well-equipped kitchen.

Visitor's comment: "We have rented many cottages in various parts of the country and this was the best one. It was comfortable, spacious, warm, dry and well-placed for views and the excellent amenities of Aviemore."
