If you fancy a week or two exploring magical Suffolk, Smokey Cottage in Carlton is now available.

Carlton is a mile from the market town of Saxmundham which has a Waitrose, new Factory shop and shoe shop, doc, dentist, chemist, railway, library, tennis courts, bowling green, hardware, post office Chinese takeaway, Indian restaurant and the Trawlers Catch which sells fab fish and chips to take away, beauty salon, 4 hairdressers, clothes shop, pubs, super florists etc. etc.
It is also approx 7 miles from the seaside town of Aldeburgh, 12 miles from Southwold, 6 miles Framlingham market town, 8 miles Halesworth. 4 miles from Minsmere for bird watching (I saw the escaped pink flamingo in May - its 2nd visit here!).
You can step back in time at magical Thorpness (6 miles) with its Meare boating lake created by a grandfather several years ago for his grandchildren. There are islands and coves with names taken from Peter Pan where you can tie up and go exploring. Oh and the water tower converted into accommodation and known locally as the 'house in the clouds'
Coastal and woodland walks. Wheelchair hire for Dunwich walks. Bike riding in Rendlesham Forest. Electric bikes available to hire.
Snape Maltings - four miles - for music, clothes, garden gear, furniture, 'non-touristy' presents, food. Nearby weekly auction at Campsey Ashe every Monday - I could fill the pages!!

Accommodation

If you are looking for 'posh' ring David Beckham cos Smokey cottage is a one-off homely, clean and charming Suffolk cottage.
It has a main bedroom with double bed and a landing bedroom with single bed (a child is welcome but it must be born in mind that this is a landing bedroom with no door to separate the stairs).
Kitchen has stable door onto the garden which is totally fenced, with parking alongside the cottage for 2/ 3 cars. Microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine.
There is a downstairs bathroom with shower over a small cottage bath plus a toilet.
Linen and towels provided.
A porch for coats, shoes etc.
Small breed dog welcome if well behaved (details needed).
