Skelgill Barn lies at the heart of our traditional Dales farm, and with both sheep and dairy cows, there is always plenty going on that you are welcome to watch, or join in if the fancy takes you!

The
cows are kept indoors in the winter, and are milked twice a day. Our milk goes to the Creamery in Hawes where it is used to make the famous Wensleydale Cheese.

We have finished lambing, and the sheep have been moved to higher pastures so that the grass can grow ready to be cut for silage in mid to late June. The cows go out into the pastures from their winter housing in the next few days, so it finally looks as though summer is on its way

Skelgill Barn is an 'upside down' house, with an open plan sitting room/kitchen upstairs, to take best advantage of the great views from every direction.
With underfloor heating in the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom, you'll find it a cosy retreat for that relaxing break you've been promising yourself.

Skelgill Beck runs close to the cottage, and can be enjoyed in all its many moods - perhaps with a family barbeque, or simply a chilled glass of wine, although at this time of year, perhaps that wine would be better mulled!.

Because I have booked out some time in the cottage for our daughter's wedding in July,we have 2 'part' weeks available in July, and they are Friday July 13th to Tuesday 17th,(4 nights) and then Tuesday July 24th to Friday 27th, (3 nights). So, if you've nothing organised yet, here is your last chance to book Skellgill Barn before November!!!

If you would like to ask anything else about the Barn, please give me a ring on Wensleydale (01969) 650523, or send me an email.
