Arran is a walker's paradise and a golfers dream! Come away over, and make yourselves at home.

Enjoy the unique atmosphere of Arran from the perfect base at Shannochie. Relax in the peaceful surroundings or explore all the joys the island has to offer. Many are drawn back year after year. Arran is addictive!

  • A haven for wildlife - Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers, Grey Seals, Red Deer, Porpoises, Red Squirrels, the list is endless. Watch 'Harry' the Hare from the cottage windows! Wildflowers are abundant.
For the more energetic, play golf on all seven courses - 9 holes at Machrie, Lochranza, and Corrie, 12 holes at Shiskine, to 18 holes at Lamlash, Brodick and Whiting Bay - all challenging in their own way!

  • Walk the Coastal Way, take in Glenashdale Falls, Eas Mor Waterfall, the stunning sight of Corrie Lochan, be entranced by the most spectacular vista from the top of Goatfell, or just sit back and watch the sun setting over Kintyre - the sun lounge in 'Barnstable' is such a treat!!

Go Pony Trekking, try Paragliding, build sand castles with the kids, or for that little retail therapy visit the many craft shops, from pottery to woodcarving, paintings to spinning! Arran Aromatics, Isle of Arran Distillery, and Torrylinn Creamery (where you can still watch the cheese being made) are a must. Treat yourselves to the fine dining in many restaurants/hotels using local produce - the Lagg Hotel (just down the road), Kildonan Hotel (just up the road), Coast in Whiting Bay, The Lighthouse at Pirnmill, just a few recommended by previous guests.
  • So much in such a small place - something for everyone!
Accommodation
  • Eryb and Barnstable are semi-detached, but offer complete peace and privacy, with fenced private gardens.

  • All cottages are fully equipped, electricity and bed linen included (please bring your own personal towels). Barnstable and Kilbride have the added joy of an open fire. Just click on our website (click button above) and all will be revealed!
