 Shalder is the Shetland word for oystercatcher. This delightful fisherman's cottage was completely upgraded in 2006. It can comfortably accommodate up to eight people. Whilst retaining a traditional feel it offers all the comfort of modern day living including newly fitted bathroom and showers; superb vaulted ceilings with exposed beams to the first floor; gas central heating; family dining kitchen. Outside there is a secluded south facing courtyard garden suitable for outdoor dining and relaxing. Also there is the use of a garage/workshop for storing bicycles.  
Location - Situated in the tranquil fishing village of Portknockie, on the stunning Moray coast, Shalder Cottage, built in 1900 is located in the oldest part of the clifftop village.
- Explore miles of unspoilt beaches, watch wonderful sunsets, sample some of the best fresh local seafood and try a spot of dolphin watching.
- Shalder Cottage is the perfect place for a coastal retreat or an ideal location for a more active holiday.
- Local activities include golfing, coastal walks, and cycling.
- Malt Whisky, Castle and Heritage Trails are all easily accessible.
- Within easy reach are the marine aquarium at MacDuff, Duff House in Banff, the Tartan museum in Keith and Baxter's of Speyside.
- Other activities include pony trekking, mountain biking, fishing, sea angling and bird watching. Dolphin cruises are available nearby.
- The clean sandy beaches and viaduct of Cullen is a short walk from the house.
- Portknockie has a Post Office and Grocers, Newsagent and General Store, Chemist, Chip Shop, hairdresser, Hotel and Inn.
- There is a small harbour with a slipway at Portknockie as well as a children's paddling pool.
